Has anyone heard... about dog ashes being an ingredient in dog food? My co-worker's son's girlfriend told my co-worker that her mom now makes their dogs food because they found out that when dogs are cremated that the ashes are mixed into dog food? Personally I think she's morphed a couple different things but thought I'd ask. |
Ok, that's a new one....interested to see what the answer is  |
I'm not sure, but I had seen a little type documetary type video I believe it was on here somewhere about what may and sometimes ends up in commercial dog food. Its disturbing. |
Hard to answer because it may have happened at one time but if customers found out that a company did this, they wouldn't use the food, so I'm pretty sure it isn't happening now (and may never did). But I would say that if the food names "meat by-products", "animal fat", "animal digest" or "meat meal", I wouldn't be buying it because they won't specify the animal... There are people who insist that this does happen but I've never seen proof. There are also people who insist that grease is collected from restaurants and the food is sprayed with it. Another thing that may or may not have happened or is happening that there really is no solid proof for. I would say that one thing I do agree with is that the some dog food companies use leftovers like diseased meat. I don't have proof of that but it makes sense to me because who else could use it? |
