Bought Yorkie and cannot get AKC papers from the breeder :( Hello! My hubby and I bought 2 Yorkies for breeding. She said she would send us the AKC registration papers and now of course she did not follow through. We paid a 1000.00 each and it has been 5 months and she after many excuses is ignoring our calls. Yes we know we were dumb! The question is do any of you breeders have any idea of how we can get the papers? We are willing to work with her to get the papers. My husband is a pastor and we are willing to help her in any way. We just want the papers. We are not looking to sue her just wanting her to be honest if she is in a bind so we know the truth and where we stand. What could her problem be in giving us the records she seemed sincere and spoke like a knowledgeable breeder besides claiming to be. She was very concerned they got a good home and everything. Can we get the pups registered without her? I am certain they are purebred. Just not certain they are registered but was told so and believe so. Can a female breed with a male that is from a different dam but the same sire and still be AKC registered? No I do not plan on breediing that closely related. Just something someone said that has made me wonder if its correct. Thanks! Susan |

You can AKC register half brother/half sister breedings with no problem. This kind of breeding is not recommended, especially for the novice breeder. |
No did not see the papers of the parents. All we got was the shot records and knew her from a friend that we could trust her. She claimed she had water damage and could not get her papers till she went through everything. |
Your breeder doesn't need to mail in registration paperwork....she could register the litter on line. Since you don't have a limited registration...all she needs to give you is the registration number and you could register the puppies on line too. You can call AKC and inquire whether or not she is a registered breeder or has been suspended. (800)233-9767 Good luck ~ |
I know this is an older post but wondered did you ever get your pups AKC papers? also I see your female just had 3 pups from your other thread where your female got pregnant at 10 months. so are these the two that breed half brother/half sister ? |
i would NOT breed two dogs that have a same parent at all ever or are not registered at all there are just way to many unwanted dogs out there to do so!! espically now people are abandoning their pets left and right animals being euthanized daily dropped on roadsides and at pounds as they cannot be afforded and left unfixed to breed recklessely and to many babys to be dealt wit later but most likely the breeder just breeds puppys to sale them to people just to make money and doen't really care about their papers and they most likely aren't registered or inbred unfortunatley somepeople aren't honest and only care about money and not the actual animals themselves inbreeding can lead to many health and mental problems down the line in dogs not worth the risk for any amount of money . i know i seem rude or harsh but i have seen to many innocent animals put down left to suffer due to the careleness of people and it's just not right or fair! |
Father and mother not related. Way back when we first talked to the breeder I had looked at other puppies from another breeder and was told they can be 1/2 brother and sister if they have the same daddy for breeding purposes. Having been told that by two different breeders I was still unsure since it sounded so wrong. Thanks for asking but they are not related. |
