Its just gonna take repetition of putting clothes on to get her used to it. Maybe get her some dresses with velcro underneath. It seems like it would be harder to get something off thats velcro |
Bella Too My Bella constantly walks out of her clothes. She left her jammies behind on the family room floor. She is always pulling her arms out of clothes. And forget bows we find them all over the house. Occassionally chewed. Oh and she is 1 year 2 months old. But she looks so cute for a little while anyway.:aimeeyork |
it will take time for her to understand that it is a good thing to have on! ...maybe give her a treat when you put them on? |
My Kayla doesn't like wearing clothes either. She pulls her legs out and then backs out of them. |
hmm, my vet has never told me I had to put clothes on them to keep them warm. I think that is personal preference. ;) I can't put clothes on my boy cause everytime I do he just pee's on em. So its just a waste of time. I would say if he can walk out of them or take them off they just might be a little to big. When I started putting bows in my babies hair he would scratch them out, but he then got used to them, they don't really bother him anymore. :D |
Thank you for all the replies helpful advise! I guess she just need to get use to it somehow!..lol..cuz she looks so cute with them on!..lol..and she really needs a bow on to keep all that hair poking her eyes too..lol.. |
I've found that bows stay in better if I use a seperate hair tie for the ponytail or topknot, and then a beret bow clipped just under the hair tie. I use the small "ouchless" bands that look like rubberbands for braces. I'm trying to teach my Paddy to wear a topknot again. We had a groomer who always cut his face hair short, but I am trying to grow it long again. I put a festive bow on him this evening after grooming, and it was messed up in seconds. I think it just takes them time to get used to! |
My vet has me put my Cavalier in clothes b/c he has alopecia on his belly and is bald! But she also told me that small breeds, like Yorkies, dont have the body mass to deal with the cold, thats why sweaters are good. Indoors, its not usually necessary though. As far as training, try putting on the outfit and going right for a walk outside, the pup wont have time to wriggle out of her clothes and she will associate getting dressed with a fun walk! Then hopefully she'll be too pooped to try and get out when you get home and she will get used to it! |
