Our gal has arrived Our itty bitty gal is now home. I flew to Edmonton on Thursday to pick her up. She was an absolute angel on the flight home. She's much smaller than I had anticipated at 1.9 lbs. This gal is extremely tiny, she can walk right under my other two who are both 5 lbs. She's a bundle of energy running circles around the older ones. So far we've only had one accident in the house and although the breeder said she was paper trained she has yet to go near either the paper or the pee pee pads. She whined for a few minutes last night wanting out of her crate but I just ignored her and she soon settled down. We aren't having much luck in naming her. I want to call her grasshopper but hubby says that's too long a name for such a tiny "fart" as he calls her. She doesn't have much of a voice so maybe Squeak will suit her. I'll post photos later today. |
What about naming her "Cricket?" |
Congrats on your new arrival!! So you have two other yorkies? I'm sure you've fallen in love already. Can't wait to see pix!! |

I can't wait to see your new baby . |
I have had 2 of mine come from excellent breeders, all were "potty trained" when I got them. They learned by watching their mama and other dogs around them. Takes them a few days at their new home to learn to do it by themselves. After all, new environment, new smells, it takes them a little bit of time to get oriented, then they start using the pads without a problem. Give your little one a few days, and even still she will have accidents for a few months--she is just a baby. |
i like cricket too!!! that is such a cute name!! congrats on your baby, you must be so excited! |
Congratulations on your new baby! She sounds like a doll! I knew a really nasty dog named Cricket once...but I don't have any other good name suggestions right now. Good luck on picking out a name! |
Congratulations on your new sweet little girl to your home. I am sure it will be fun naming her and she sounds like an absolute doll. Anxious to see your pictures! |

Congrats on the new puppy!! |
:congrats: on your new furbaby, what about dolly for a name if shes a tiny doll. wendy and rosie :rose: :yorkiesar |
My sister in law once had a little yorkie named Cricket. She was adorable....I vote for cricket....however dolly is very cute, too! I may be getting a female in October....I have been thinking of names, too....It is so hard to name them. |
Well after last night's performance she may well end up being called Squeak. She was not happy about being put in her crate for sleepy time and kicked up the biggest fuss she could muster. It was all I could do not to pee my pj's laughing. You can barely hear her she has such a small voice. Her attitude far out weighs her voice, she is not lacking in attitude. Typical female yorkie, the boss of everything. After almost an hour of her performance I finally gave up and got up with her. Wrong thing to do I know but I was afraid she'd wear herself out completely if she kept up. She's napping more today. Now if only I could nap at the same time. |
oh does she sound ADORABLE and congratulations ~ I can't wait to see her either - there's nothing like a new puppy in the house and I'm envious - Good luck naming her - Squeak is cute - I did like Cricket too - and Dolly is really good just cause they remind us of playing with dolls sometimes...and it's one of my nicknames too - PLEASE post pictures soon ! |
