My prissy girl doesn't like to dress up she chews on clothing. UGH! I got her some cute jammies and a night gown, she chews on them. I haven't even kept them on long because I don't want her to damage them. She hates bows and I got a cute dress from a member but she won't let me put it on. She doesn't growl or bite or anything but dang. I'm disappointed LOL :( |
It takes time. You have to keep practicing with her. |
How old is she? Is she teething? She'll more than likely grow out of that chewing stage. Just keep putting them on her. Make sure you tell her how beautiful her dress is. I really think they know what we are saying to them. Bella just struts her stuff when she's got on a new dress. She loves the attention! |
I'll keep trying. Zoe will be one in December. Guinness still chews quite a bit, too. |
Oh, I know how you feel. My female HATED clothes when she was younger - but now that she's 2 years old she 'tolerates' them. My boys, on the other hand, LOVE clothes and actually prance around in them - LOL! |
That is too bad...but I am sure she'll get used to them if you keep at it. My Strawberry never minds when I put her bow in or her coat....and neither does her sister, Peachu....but when they get together (Peachu lives with my mom) they play 'bite the bow off your sister'! :( Ugh! Cause' they look so cute in their bows and when we go out together they never stay in! Only when I take Strawb out solo does she have a bow that lasts longer than 2 minutes! HAHAHA! Keep at it...she is still young. :) |
too cute. Guinness is wearing his tshirt proudly, but Zoe, nope! |
Try putting them on her and then doing something special with her. You can take them for a ride.. that's what I did with mine. Now they look forward to getting clothes on.. it means we are going for a car ride or a walk.. and that is exciting for them. Just be positive and praise her and tell her how pretty she looks. It works! Time and patience. |
My brothers Yorkie Lexie is a petite, beautiful little girl,(we tease him and call her sexy lexi, and he gets mad because he thinks it sounds like a stripper) well she loves to eat mud,dig holes, chew toys, kill moles, chase the neighbors chickens while on her leash, bite her sister Chelsie (a yellow lab,she hangs off her jowels ) She hates bows or anything girly girl. My brother works shift work, and he said when he comes home either at 6:30 am or 6:30pm and she'll hear him come in, and she starts growling ,and she bounces around with her butt in the air in attack mode...too funny. ...They love her all the same. |
Oh, I'm sorry I am dealing with the same issue. My older puppy hates clothes and acts like she is being punished with them on while the younger puppy could care less. I put t-shirts on them for a while each day to get them used to it. I'm not giving up because I have some beautiful clothes for them. The same with the topknot thing. I just perservered with that too and now she will wear an elastic with a bow. (The little baby is too young - not enough hair yet LOL). Just don't give up. |

I havent put clothes on Addison except his dog coat. It has Velcro in the belly area and now he is very used to wearing it and doesnt seem to mind it at all. Maybe trying a more form fitting coat that doesnt have much loose material, and slowly work your way to the more substancial clothing?? Thats my plan... |
I think some dogs just don't like clothing. Coral is the same way. |
My Pebbles is 8mo. and she just doesn't walk when I put her in a coat or a t-shirt. Her cute halloween outfit was an angel and my Coco was a devil and she just would not walk. She just stands there, as soon as I take it off she runs around crazy like normal. She is such a silly head:yelrotflm :aimeeyork COCO :aimeeyork PEBBLES :aimeeyork TRIXIE |
My GUCCI didn't like his clothes for about 3 days but I just kept putting them on everyday and now he wears them with no problem and it's only been a little over a week since he's been here.. Just don't give up! they'll get it soon I'm sure. Best of Luck to You! |
