Poop Question Sorry about the gross subject - Lately we've noticed that when Roxy goes poop they are little pellets instead of the long thicker "rope/log" type poops she used to do especially in the morning. She used to do her biggest one first thing in the am, but now they are all quite little. Is this something to be worried about? |
I don't know, but answers to the following questions might help others answer. Did her food, environment, or stress level change recently? |
We've been feeding her the exact same food, but she is eating it later and later each day. It is often 4:00 by the time she decides to eat, and it is often because we've put a little bit of chicken in it to get her interested, so she may be eating a bit less than she used to because it's so late. Right now (11:30am) she is eating because we've put the food in a bottle and she has to play to get it out. Maybe we will have to keep on doing that? Environemt has not changed at all Stress level - she is teething, and we are leaving her home alone for longer periods of time now, but she is always in her crate - so the same environment. |
What is she eating? She may need to drink more too. You could also try a little 100% pumpkin in a can. My guess is the food you are feeding is not sitting right with her and you may need to try a different food. Maybe add some canned too for the extra moisture. |
PS. This might be the only place talking about poop seems as normal as talking about the weather:D I think most people watch there dogs poop for signs of a problem, I do. |

We give do about a tablespoon of pumpkin every day and we have not had any problems. It is supposed to help with both constipation AND diarrhea, although I don't know how it does both... it works! |
She's on a whole food from the UK called Burns Puppy food. It's the best on the market. She was pooping fine before with it, but I wonder if she's just not eating enough. I will see if I can find canned pumpkin here and give that a try. |
