New member with a question Hi everyone. I am new to this site and i have a wee question. My Yorkshire Terrier, Mylo, is 10 weeks old on Tuesday. I have notices that his eyes are quite watery, i clean then everyday and they are still quite bad. I can clean them and about 30 minutes later they are as bad as ever again? Can anyone give me any advice on what i can do/use to help them? Thank you :aimeeyork |
At this age it's most likely the hair on the nose growing out and poking him in the eyes. If you have it trimmed the watering will probably stop...or...if you want it to grow out and help it lay down you can put a tiny bit of vaseline on the hair to stick it down. |
Thank you very much for your help. I will give the vaseline a try! Thanks again |
You're welcome...and, by the way...welcome to YT! |
I've also heard that giving them distilled water helps, also. |
Both of my yorkies have watery eyes. Neither trimming the hair nor distilled water have not helped. So, if neither of these work for you, don't panic. My vet has assured me that this is just a trait of the breed. I just get a warm wash rag and clean their eyes every evening. Good luck! |
Hi and welcome to YT. We had the same problem but they grew out of it once the hair got a bit longer.:D |
Welcome to YT. As long as I keep my guys hair trimmed short I don't have the problem. |
