Doggie Diapers Hi. I am wondering ... have any of you ever used the Doggie Diapers like these DIAPERS? Desi will be a year old on November 20th and he still pees on the carpet! We are going to my in laws house for Thanksgiving. They have a nice home and I get so tired of always having to keep an eye on Desi so he doesn't pee on their floor. They have a 5 year old Shih-Tzu and they LOVE to play around, but with Desi being only 3 lbs, his bladder can't hold much. So he has to potty more frequently than Lola does. I'm either always having to keep a close eye on him and not socialize with the family or I'm having to hold him and he's squirming to get down to play with Lola. I was thinking about getting these disposable diapers for when we go to their house. |
I also have a boy but I use belly bands. They are less obvious than a diaper would be and don't seem to bother him at all. |
I've used them. I don't use them on a regular basis, but they have come in helpful. After Bella's spay she had the e-collar and it was awful. We used the e-collar for 5 days, then I switched to a onsie-to avoid the licking. After she peed in the onsie, I bought a package of those diapers. She won't keep the diaper on by itself, but doesn't get a choice when she is in the onsie. I do plan on using them again when we go to my mom's for Thanksgiving - especially on the plane ride. |
I don't like disposable diapers for dogs. I bought each of my furgirls a pair of panties from Go.Fetch (YT vendor). I cut poise pads in half, and put these inside-it makes them easy to change, keeps the girls from marking in their sitter's house (the only place they do it), and they look just adorable when they're on :) Plus, it's much more cost effective to buy two reusable panties and a pack of pads that will last forever. Des's YT username is Tiger's Mom. Check em out! |
Tried them I tried them on Bella when she went into heat in September. Used them for 2 days but they seemed to slide off after a few hours. Or she kind of scraped them off sliding her body along the front of the couch. Maybe good for one day @ holiday time though.:aimeeyork |
I have belly bands for Pasquale whenever we go to someone's house. He is really good about using his pee pad...BUT when someone see's that you are thinking of their house , they tend to respect you and your dog more and invite you back more . I would definitely put something on your little furbaby while at your in-laws. |
I vote for belly bands for a male. They are much less bulky and I use poise pads so there is never a leak. Just be sure to put them on snugly and change often. I use baby wipes when I change them. |
I always put belly bands on Dino when I am taking him to visit anyone. It takes away the worry of him peeing at their house or on someone  (if he gets nervous). I get them from a YT member: LitlbitRanch They are wonderful because you don't need to worry about them marking their territory at someones house. They need to be changed a couple times a day, I use the poise pads (average hold works fine), the 72 pack is like $10 but they sell 10 packs for just a couple bucks if you are only going to use it on rare occasions. Good luck! |
We use luv's baby disposable diapers Quote:
I place the back side of the diaper against the tummy and then bring the front side of the diaper onto the top of their body. Then bring the holding tabs up and presto they are ready to be on the run (be sure to cut a slit into the top side for their tail ;-) Our girls never pee in the diapers and when I take them off they each run right to their pee pads :-) Sounds like a preemie would be the size for yours since it is so small. I did have to make Prairie Bea's panties due to her being soooooo tiny, only 2 and 1/2 lbs. In my opinion the baby diapers are a lot cheaper than the doggie disposable diapers from the pet stores, and would serve the purpose. There is enough time to get him use to wearing something for now and then you will be all set on your enjoyable and relaxed visit at your in-laws. Patti and Jack and girls. |
