Our visit to the hospital My dear Uncle is ailing and in the hospital. He doesn't even like dogs, but did smile at Maya when he first met her. Why did I think that sneaking her into the hospital would "cheer" him up??? So I put her in her purse like carrier. We made it into the elevator. Never mind that the man wondered why my purse was bumping and moving. We made it into the room, and I popped her out of the bag. "GUESS WHO CAME TO SEE YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!" Oh the look on his face.....not good. I knew I had made a mistake. She was a perfect angel through the visit. THe nurses loved her, but not the uncle :mad: Well the point of this post is....do you find yourself talking to your yorkie like it is a child? While at the hospital....Maya looked out of the window. very interested. I said to her "That's Memphis Baby" My Uncle asked me who I was talking to. Maya Why Well she needs to know about these things. Is it the teacher in me The Mommie in Me, or the plum fool in me??? |
I'd talk to them just as I was talking to any other "human". |

My mom was in the hospital this past week and i totally thought of sneaking Pasquale in there. But they all knew i was a nurse...and i was a nurse there years ago....so i didnt want to ruffle any feathers. So instead i printed out this giant picture of Pasquale and i posted it on her door with a little note that said "Hope you feel better soon, Love Pasquale" . My mom had never been a dog fan all her life...but it made me smile when one of the nurses asked if that was her dog...and she said.."he's everyone's dog..he belongs to all of us" |
Lol! Very cute story!! Thanks for sharing! Yep, I talk to mine like she's my baby girl, because that's what she is! No one has ever said anything to me about it, but if they did.....oh well! :D |

I started this when Mika was a baby. We were outside learning pottie and a plane flew over (we are on the flight path to the private airport in Olive Branch), she stopped in mid pee and looked up and followed the plane with her little eyes until it got out of sight. Plane baby, I said, that's an airplane, people travel on it to other places. Right then and there I felt like such a fool, as if I she was going to say the word back to me someday like a baby. LOL |

The Uncle said that he just didn't want me to get fussed at, so when the ladies came to change the bed he made up this elaborate tail about I needed to come see him but didn't have time to take Maya home, so is it ok??? The ladies changing the bed said....dog...what dog...I didn't see any dog, did you??? He smiled and was happy. '' Of course Maya who rarely barks decides this is the right time to punctuate the air with a few good ones, and give us away LOL. Then my Uncle had a guest, and she HATED dogs, so she left, and then the Uncle felt like we were running his "company" away....could it have gone any worse???? |

I have a friend named Michael and he used to drive me insane talking to his dogs while on the phone with ME. Now I'm doing it, and my non-dog-lovin girlfriends are FED UP with me!!!!! But just like kids, while you are on the phone, they will do something darling to get your attention, and quite frankly, I'm more interested in Maya than whoever is on the phone anyway.:D |
