My hubby used to get really irritated and we had loads of fights.I think he has decided if you can't beat join them.Besides Hubbies are fine ones to talk they are messier than the dogs.

We use pee pads as well as going outside. They've never seemed to have a problem getting confused. With the weather getting cold, Maggie just pees outside and wants to come back inside as soon as possible and within a half hour she wil have gone and pooped on the pad.

Ella pretty much exclusively uses the pee pads - she is so teeny, i don't think she enjoys the feel of grass when she squats. Louis uses both and I can only think of 1 accident in the last month and both pups are under 2. When my ex lived with us, the accidents were much more frequent, but then, both dogs were much younger.

I also think, if you aren't anxious about it, they aren't sensing your anxiety, so they respond better to praise when they go in the right place.

Again, I truly believe the key is working together. Significant others must share the responsibility. You are committed to one another and one of you is committed to the dog. By compromising and sharing the responsibility, the party with 'issues' has a better chance of building a relationship with the dog, seeing him or her succeed and building their own bond. My next man better LOVE my dogs. They are my babies, take 'em, or leave me!! LOL

puppy can't contain his excitement
 
My little guy is about 90% trained. He is 6 months old. My problem is he gets so excited when he sees my hubby he dribbles all over the place. To make matters worse at bedtime he tries to escape me and runs to my hubby who is relaxing in his recliner and dribbles all over it. That's when I get my "told you so" lecture about getting a puppy. It doesn't help when he yells at puppy loudly "don't you pee on my chair". You can guess what happens then. I know he loves him as much as I do though. :)

Now, I get annoyed, but never enough that it would be an issue in my relationships. For my ex, it was a huge issue (or an excuse to avoid the much larger issue that he didn't want to talk about.)

MY dh gets "sick" to his stomach if god forbid the puppies poop or pee. and he says " ic ant pick it up its gonna me gag" but me it does annoy me that he wont clean it and that it happend but I have never gotten sick to my stomach. Even if it was upset stomach poop or vomit. Guys (mine especially) cant take it ? dunt understand. It honestly makes me rethink of actually having kids with him because what happends when the baby needs a diaper change?

EXACTLY!!!

I have no idea how they expect to have children if a little doggy diarrhea can put them off. How can they be such babies??

Honey, if you are the sole caretaker of the dog and he doesn't do anything to help - I'd really analyze if he even has what it takes to be there for YOU.

I don't have a furbaby yet:( But fortunatly, I don't anticipate a problem with the potty training accidents, because my husband pretty much understands that their very similar to children. Puppies and children have plenty of accidents while growing up.

they still expect the children because we are the woman and we are suppose to take care of them anyways. I think he was wacked over the head too many times as a kid lol I have a funny story..well more of a I wanted to slap 'em across the head funny. --- We have a woden baby gate so Max the sheltie will not get into my makeup area in the office because he destroys all my stuff. He doesn't at all, it basically all about him. So I made my life all about my dogs and YT! haha...and he gets jealous of me being wit Cutie all the time. She is my baby she just turned 6 years old... I tell him she has been with me more than you have unconditionally and she will come first! lol He is also a "just a dog" guy.. When she was sick he was like i will buy another one! o man I can go on!

So sorry for the friction at your house hope things get solve soon:(, maybe put them in a playpen, until they are potty train if you can watch them that close since you have kids and are so busy.

Hi girls...after reading all your responces, I had to go kiss my hubby...We have 5 yorkies and even through the potty training he never complained, of course he says there better than kids:D He is great with all of them and even though all are momma's babies{as he calls them} they love there daddy:p

OK Poop is gross no matter what animal it comes from but you just hold your nose and clean it up (or pick it up in the yard) as long as you don't have to smell it it's not a big deal. BUT, I have to say that dog vomit (either yellow bile or food) is NOT in any way remotely like human vomit, especially from our tiny dogs. I used to work in a school and I could not handle the pukers. I took the bleeders and let others handle the pukers (i wasn't a teacher or a nurse, sorry NOT my job to handle a puking kid!) Anyway, dog vomit is not that bad. Tell him to get over it!!! :D

I think strain from our crazy schedule and all plays a HUGE part. it's HIS lap Zoe's in most of the time and I catch him more than once giving belly rubs to Guinness. He says it's because he feels Guinness is neglected on attention, I told him he's full of it. That dog runs this house with Zoe at a close second

My husband never really complains about the dogs, but he doesn't take responsibility for them either. Baxter still poops/pees in the litter box about 85% of the time. Husband can be sitting just a few feet from it, but will scream "you've got poop!",or "baxter did a stinky" and expect me to come get it. :rolleyes:

There have been times when I got out of the shower and immediately smelled poop. I told him it takes a special kind of person to sit and smell "stinky" and wait for someone else to get it . I have just accepted that is the way he is.

In all fairness, he loves to gripe at me because I never tuck the trash bag back inside the can liner and make it look all neat the way he does. I told him just like he doesn't do poop, I don't do trash...and THAT shut him up!:D
