Question re post spay... Coral is getting spayed tomorrow. Our vet only does spays/neutering on Thursdays so Brooklyn and Britney were both fixed on Thursdays. Luckily with them, I didn't have class the following day (Friday) but this semester I do. :( Do you think Coral will be OK alone for about 3-4 hours on Friday? I appreciate any suggestions. |
she will sleep the whole time you are gone. No problem. Bonnie |
I'm not sure--- it depends on if she would lick her wounds? I wouldn't do it. She will probably be stressed and she's just recovering so if she has any complications she'd need you to get her help. I don't think that the next day is enough time to heal. I'd wait 3 days or so, at least. Can you skip class or get a sitter? Last year when I had one of mine spayed, I skipped. |
it would be best if someone can stay with her. if no one can keep an eye on her just to make sure that everything is ok, then make sure you put a cone (e-collar) on her, and maybe a onesie as well, to make sure she doesn't chew on the stitches. (maybe you can take her to class with you? since she will be sleeping most likely, she can just stay in the carrier? maybe you can ask your professor if that's is ok?) |
I'd really hate to miss the class but will if I have to. Unfortunately, I don't know anyone who could watch her for the few hours. :( I may ask the professor if I can bring her! That's a good idea! It's a rather informal class so I don't think it'd be that bad. Thanks everyone! |

My vet kept Triss overnight. Can your vet do this and then you pick her up after class the next day? Also, I've been using a baby onesie on Triss to keep her from licking her stitches. Its been working great! |
