How do you... How do you train your Yorkie to do those cute tricks such as the High 5, Bang (shot dead), Hide their eyes, etc. Roxy is really smart and gets bored easily, and she loves to learn new tricks. She can focus for a good half hour on learning a new trick before she gets bored, so I'd like to teach her some new tricks. She already knows the basics: Sit, Lay Down, Shake a paw & the other paw, Roll Over and stay. :animal36 |

Mine knows Nada, but how to wrap me around her little paw. |
Hahaha - ok mine does that too! Are there any good training websites at all? |
i taught London to "Dance" by holding a treat in the air and moving it in circles. now when i tell her dance she spins like a ballerina :) and to "be a snake" id blow on her fur and shed slither around the floor on her back and sides. its too cute. now she loves it i saw this one video of a woman telling her dog to "fix your hair" and the dog would rub its paw on her head like she was smoothing her hair, it was sooo cute. i wish london could do that. and that "bang!" trick. i gave up on that one. |

We took Joey to the trick training class at Petsmart, and we learned how to teach him the basics plus jumping through a hoop, ringing a bell, backing up, high 5, praying, catch, rolling over and playing dead. Most of the tricks are taught using a small treat as a guide. This site has some wonderful tips on training your dog; usually training sections are limited to 5-10 minutes, but done twice a day for best results. This site has some great tips with videos for step by step advice. Dog Tricks! Shake, Crawl, Beg, Kiss, Roll Over, Bow, and more! |
Fiona is very food goal orientated! she knows how to sit, lay down, put head down, and wait for her treat until i say its ok. all before she was 6 months old! just pay attention to the positive things! good luck! |
