His Pee Is Killing My Grass! The places were Carlos goes pee in the yard are dead. Is this normal or is there something going on with Carlos that I should have checked out? This just started happening about a month or two ago. |
I have heard it has to do with the food you feed them, although I change foods all the time and I've never had a problem. I think there are products out there to change the pH of their urine but I don't know anything about them. The amount of water they drink probably also makes a difference. |
It also depends on the type of grass you have. You can make an area of the yard that is a pee area, having an upright post might be tempting for him, and train him to only use that area. There are things that you can add to his water that are said to make the urine less acidic, but I wouldn't take the chance, Joey's more important to me than the grass. You can also try watering the grass immediately after he pees, or use pee pads. :D |
I am not really worried about the grass being dead, my hubby is:D. I was worried that Carlos might have been having a problem. The more he pees the less I mow  |

I just wanted to say that my neighbors and I all have the same grass (townhomes) and we have no pee spots and neighbors do....even with little dogs. I always know when the neighbor dog pees in my yard! |
