HELP! Bad Grooming Job!
 
I just picked up my 16 week old puppy from the groomers! She did an awful job and I cried all the way home! How long until his hair grows back out?? Anything I can do to make it grow faster?? I miss my cute little guy, now (I hate to say it) but he look UGLY!!! HELP!!!

This happened to me with Bella. She had matted hair and they ranted and raved about how cute she'd look once they shaved her down, she didn't. IT was very upsetting and my family laughed at her and it made me very sad. I felt bad. Good thing it was the summer, so she wasn't cold!

The amound of time it takes to grow back is ever changing from yorkie to yorkie. Mine too almost up to 3-4 months to get her back to "normal."

Can we see a picture? Where did you take him? My suggestion to you is bring in pictures, be VERY specific with them as well. Also, ask your friends in the neighborhood where they go!

I'm sure your baby boy isn't ugly. You're just not used to seeing him with such short hair, is all. You'll get used to it.

I've had a bad grooming experience, too. this past June, I took Pixel in for a trim. Her hair was a little over 3 inches long then - -gorgeous, but too much for the summer heat. I told the groomer I wanted her hair shorter for the summer; obviously my definition of shorter wasn't the same as the groomer's. My precious baby was pretty much buzzed when she came back to me! She was in what I think was a schnauzer cut -- about a quarter inch hair on her body and a little more around the face, particularly around her muzzle. I didn't even recognize her at first! Pictures attached.

It took a good 3-4 months for her hair to grow back to a 2-inch length, but she was still my little baby. She was still the little sweetheart that she always was. Her hair was just very short, that's all. I bought her a little sweater for indoors when the air conditioning was on; she looked adorable in that. Believe me, you'll get used to it and his hair will grow back.

Awe...let me assure you...it grows back very quickly. I have taken a few of my guy's down very, very short. I never thought they were ugly though. LOL

Here is my little Biewer boy before and after.

1st pic...with his beautiful coat.
2nd pic. He is nekkid as a Biewer can get in this pic. LOL

Let me add...it was the beginning of summer, and he liked his cut as much as we did. He is still as cute IMO.

Also...this was one of my first tries at grooming at home, so not bad for a beginner. :D

hahaha, you really made him nekkid!!!! yes, he is still cute, but it made me laugh to see him nekkid like that. :p

i know how you feel! this had happened to me as well. TWICE actually! it will take a little while for the hair to grow back, but i think you should take a picture of him now, so that in the future, you can take the picture with you to the groomers to let them know that you DO NOT want his hair cut like that!!!!

i always bring pictures of milu with me when i go to the groomers now. i will show them the picture of how i like milu's hair to look like. and actually i found a groomer that i really like, so i will always go to her, because she knows how i like milu's hair to look.

he is still cute boy mommy, hair will come back, don't be sad!

Thank you all so much for the support. I took some pictures of the cut, but the pictures actually make him look better than he really does!! It was just really shocking when I went to pick him up, I left my cute little fuzzy puppy and got a short haired dog...he looks all grown up and shouldn't yet :( It feels like I picked up someone elses dog, like I don't even know him anymore. I am still so sad.....

awww...you poor thing, i know how you feel. that's funny though that you said the pictures made him look better than he really does. these little babies are SO photogenic aren't they!!!! i am so jealous of them! :D

just keep venting, that's what got me over milu's bad haircuts. i just vent to EVERYONE that will listen! LOL, and the hair grew back shortly after i got tired of venting and everyone got tired of listening to me! hehe :rolleyes:

I know how you feel that happened to me last week. I even posted on here about how i was sobbing. Everyone thought she looked cute some even said cuter cuz she was less ratty looking, but I thought the same thing. She didn't look like my baby :( That's what upset me the most, is I felt like I didn't know who she was, I missed her little cubby bear furry face and wanted it back so bad.

I am finally used to her cut and actually am starting to like it cuz I can see her little brown eyes.

Youll get used to it i promise :)

I was also nervous about her not being cute anymore,a nd people not liking her anymore :(

Awww...that is too bad! Your babies hair will grown back....in a few months...until then maybe you might want to get a sweater as with the shorter hair if they are not used to it they shiver a bit.

OMG!!! He is ADORABLE all nekky!!! I love the cut :)

It will grow back very quickly. Thats the good thing about hair, lol. I am SURE your boy is not ugly. If he is only 16 weeks, he is still in puppy coat, so not to worry.
