Do you think spaying will correct her issues?? While I love her to death, Coral sometimes is a terror! She has good and bad days when it comes to housebreaking. Sometimes she'll pee in the most random of places. Earlier tonight she jumped onto the bed and peed! :mad: I understand that she's going to have accident but I'm convinced that sometimes she does it out of spite. Making the effort to jump onto the bed to pee is not an accident! She also has started (within the last few weeks) fighting with Britney and, mostly, Brooklyn. Her and Brooklyn will be running around and playing and then all of a sudden she'll start a fight with him! It only lasts for about 10 seconds, if that, and most of the time they just break it up on their own. They never break the skin or anything- no blood. Coral is about 7 months old is getting spayed on Thursday. Do you think when she gets spayed it will help deter or stop these problems?? |
First off, Brooklyn is a male? On females, I don't think having her spayed will help that. sometimes, it doesn't even help with males..:( She's only 7 mos. so still a baby, she will grow out of that. If they get ticked at us sometimes, they will also do bad things. |

Wanted to make sure, thought it was a typo, that is my great nieces name. I had heard of Brook before, but, never Brooklyn until she was born. I have noticed puppies sometimes can be like little kids. You know how little kids after they're potty trained, sometimes forget to go to the bathroom, until it's too late?? I'm sure this is probably what she's doing. But, she could be upset with you about something too. My mom got a dog when it was 11 mos old. The first time she peed on moms bed, mom didn't say much, as she thought she was just adjusting to a new home. The 2nd time she did it, mom really got on to her, she said the dog probably thought she was going to kill her, but, she never did pee on that bed ever again. Now shes's 14 years old, and the best little dog..You really have to change your tone with them when they do something wrong. My grandma always had a dog(and this is no lie) housebroken in 1 day. Sure wish she was still around, would have sent some of mine to her...;) |
Kyle - Angel just turned two years old and is finally settling down and not attacking Sissy so often. You might have to wait it out a little..... |

My Yorkie is getting spayed this Thursday also. I am hoping the behavior gets 100% better. She is a maniac! She chews on our pants legs, bites my husbands ankles, chews my grandson & his clothing & is just wild. I am thinking of in-house private classes for her behavior but I am sure the price will be more than I want to spend. |
I think spaying will calm her down but I dont know about the potty issuess |

Maybe she's still learning how far she can push things as far as the fighting goes. Gracie kind of taught Spike how rough he can get and he still tests her every now and then. Gracie is so much bigger she can keep him in check though. Gracie is 5 yrs. old and Spike is 3 for reference. As far as potty training I can offer you no hope.:p I had absolutely no trouble housebreaking Gracie, Sugar was a bit harder since I didn't get him until 17 months but Spike... of Spike, thank God he's so cute. He would pee on beds, on the dog beds, he even peed in the water dish and once right on my lap!:eek: He's the sweetest thing and I don't think it was spite- he's just not all there. I had him at the vets so many times thinking kidney infection it was ridiculous.:rolleyes: At 3 I still have to treat him like a puppy- take him out all the time, keep him confined in the study if I'm not watching him and still, all I can say is I am very grateful for my tile floors.:p Spike is a very unique little guy and Coral is so young I'm sure she'll come around. If not- you're not alone!:D |

I'm sure she'll come around. Britney was a year plus+ before she was mostly housebroken and she'll still pee on the floor if you don't take her out on a regular basis or a pad isn't down. I'm grateful that we have hardwood floors! Carpeting would be a disaster! |

All my females are not spayed (of course since I'm a breeder :)) but they ALL mark. Just as much as my males. Especially if they smell another female was there prior. I have one who goes around the yard and pee's on everyone elses pee and poo. she even lifts her leg! Spaying "may" help :) Is your male neutered? Could just be all the raging hormones :) Mine do that too, 2 will be playing and then one has to but in and start a little tiff. Good luck!!!!! I hope everything gets better :) |
