Where do I start this time? So I got a new puppy, only 8 weeks old last week. She is not a yorkie, shes a BichPoo and she is amazingly cute! Potty training my yorkie was, well, hard but it wasn't that bad because there was my fiance and I both doing it, we could hear him at night when he got out of the bed to try to go to the bathroom, and he was just very consistant. I need some advice with my new girl! She is so small that when she hops out of bed we can't hear her, and when she is going to the bathroom in the apartment she will not even consider the pee pad. When we take her out and leave chewy (my yorkie) inside chewy gets upset. And when we take him out with us, Mimzy wants to play the whole time. Any advice and can anyone relate? I don't want to leave my old baby out but I dont want to deprive my new baby of attention! |
I would have them do everything together, Right now since your keeping them apart when they do see each other it's playtime Let them be around each other. Also it's easier on potty training the younger one always follows the older one. |
Jessica, I totally agree with browniesmom........I'm new here, first day, but I have 5 little rescue yorkies, (we rescued and placed 125 over the last 2 years), and we have found that they do teach each other. We take them out all at the same time and highly praise each one when they do what they're suppose to do. We keep a lead on the new ones at night (in bed) and it helps teach them to stay until we grab ahold of it and lead them out. I also use pads just on the kitchen floor and they really have taught each other where to go.:congrats:Good luck on your new little one and as with kids, you'll have more than enough love and time for both of them. |
sometimes when I have to take out both my yorkie and my daughters...I will hold one until the other gets their business done...then hold the other so the one in my arms can go.....because some nights they just wanna run around and play with each other....and at least they both get to go out at the same time! No jealousy |
