Good and Plenty Ok, so my little 'monster" err I mean my darling, got on my coffee table somehow this morning, and ate some good and plenty's..probably 10 maybe.... Hmmmm do you think he will be ok??? It's only been about 15 minutes and he seems his normal ( monster ) self.... meaning he's into anything he can find....LOL He's 4lbs at almost 4 months old. He really is a blessing...but dang it..........sometimes...he tries my patience! |
Gus is 12 months, and still into everything. I have him on a strict diet, but he manages to find an abundance of bad food on his own. I’m really concerned about him getting into leftover Halloween candy. |
As I recall, Good & Plenty is a licorice candy, right? Licorice on it's own is not toxic, however, he may experience some diarrhea. I don't know if there is any artifical sweetner in this candy, if so that could be a problem as it can be toxic. If it were me, I would call my vet's office when they open and ask them. Otherwise just watch him. |
OMG...I'm sure he'll be fine, but yes, I would check with my vet. They are sneaky little devils, aren't they? he he |
in answer to one question, yes it is a licorice coated with a candy shell. It has now been about a half hour and he still seems ok. My vet won't open up until 9 am and I'm in court at that hour and unable to call....but I will on break. I have another hour or so before having to leave for work, so I'll keep an eye on him until then. Yes they are sneaky devils! Geesh this boy. It has literally been YEARS since I've had a pup, as my corkie and recently deceased Leilauni, were/are 13 going on 14 years....I don't remember them beings such pains in the ARSE.....hahaha But whatcha gonna do when they twist yer heart up all round them..eh? |
LOL....sounds like my Maggie Monster! She likes to get on the tables when I am gone too! I learned long ago to never leave anything out cuz she will get into it! I am sure your baby will be fine, but like other's have said, you may want to call your vet to be sure.... |
I called the vet as soon as I got to work and was able to talk to the vet. Good n Plenty's are licorice and a sugar candy coat. Not toxic but depending how many, they could have some loose bowels. I got home.. and he's fine............till we went outside.....and he'd pulled a snail outta the shell..... He was spitting and spewing........LOL This boy is a problem a moment...... God I love him..hahah |
Last week while I was gone Lucky got on my kitchen table and shredded a couple of my bills that I had got in that day and I keep equal on the table so I had white powder everywhere. He tore into the packets but I don't think he licked any of it thank god. He just looked at me and wagged his lil tail. I have to keep my table cleared off now. That little rascal!!!!! |
The vet did tell me....becareful of sugarless gum. It can cause kidney problems..... Something in the sugarless gum is so not good |

Gotta love those boys! Don't they just get into everything. What's that little poem about boys? Something like What are little boys made of? Snips and snails and puppy dog tails That's what little boys are made of. :D I think that works for Yorkie boys too! |
My Suzi , 9 months, is into everything she can get her paws on too. She can't jump on the coffee table, but tries . It is funny to see her jumping, and unable to get up there, but, she will try and reach whatever she can , and has been able to grab stuff. Were also in trouble because library books. She prefers the hard cover, and chewed two, now three. We are going to try and fix the last one with transparent tape.... I am afraid that I won't be able to check out any more books:eek: Again, she gets a hold of them from the coffee table, I had fallen asleep on the couch reading, and yep, Suzi got it. I am busted. The librarian is very cool about stuff like that, however, i now have to pay for the books. It gets expensive after A while.... Will she ever outgrow this behavior? |
