I'm so so sorry. I lost my 'baby' April 26th after a bout with kidney failure and 15 years. He was the light of my life and miss him so much. I can't fathom losing three. My vet sent me a sweet card as well then when I took Macie in he made me cry. He explained to her how lucky she was to have a good mommy and she had big shoes to fill. Ughghh. boo hoo. You did the right thing without a shadow of a doubt and you did what was right for your baby; not you. That's the hardest decision in the world to make. Get your favorite funny picture of them and let it remind you of all the great times and memories.

i feel your pain with your loss of your babies. i have lost babies also, as matter of fact i lost my precious yorkie boy, dru, in april. he was the love of my life (aside from my husband and daughter) and i grieve for him every day. he was a "tiny yorkie" and had lots of health problems due to his size and i will never purchase or try to breed for a tiny again due to this heart breaking experience. you are in my thoughts and prayers and i love goldens, my neighbor i grew up with has one named sandy and she is a real joy to have around. she makes her way to our porch every now and then cause she knows we have a treat for her. (she gets small treats for our yorkies, but she doesnt seem to mind, lol) and we just love her. take care and know that you will be reunited with your babies someday. i am always here to talk about pet loss and greif. i've experienced it since childhood and i know it first hand. hang in there. it will get better and you will be ok. lots of love, robbie.

A Dog's Plea

Treat me kindly, my beloved friend, for no heart in all the world is more grateful for kindness than the loving heart of me.
Do not break my spirit with a stick, for though I might lick your hand between blows, your patience and understanding will more quickly teach me the things you would have me learn.
Speak to me often, for your voice is the world's sweetest music, as you must know by the fierce wagging of my tail when your footsteps fall upon my waiting ear.
Please take me inside when it is cold and wet, for I am a domesticated animal, no longer accustomed to bitter elements. I ask no greater glory than the privilege of sitting at your feet beside the hearth.
Keep my pan filled with fresh water, for I cannot tell you when I suffer thirst.
Feed me clean food that I may stay well, to romp and play and do your bidding, to walk by your side, and stand ready, willing and able to protect yo with my life, should your life be in danger.
And, my friend, when I am very old, and I no longer enjoy good health, hearing and sight, do not make heroic efforts to keep me going. I am not having any fun. Please see that my trusting life is taken gently. I shall leave this earth knowing with the last breath I draw that my fate was always safest in your hand

I am so sorry for your losses. That poem brings tears to my eyes, and I pray that all your babies are resting over the rainbow just waiting to see you again.

I'm sorry for your loss. How difficult to have to endure such a hard loss repeatedly. We lost 2 dogs this year about 5 months apart. The poem is lovely. It brought tears to my eyes. You are obviously a loving pet owner. I hope that your pain fades quickly and that your good memories endure forever!! :love:

That was tearjerking and what a great vet....when we had Lady (a cocker) go to RB 2-1/2 years ago we received a nice note but not with the poem - that one always makes my cry - I'm so sorry for your losses - life is very very hard sometimes...you have my sympathy

I am sorry about your three babies. I hope your heart heals is fast and you remember them fondly forever. You are a good mom.

oh my goodness,...i can't imagine the pain you feel right now. you're vet was so sweet to send you that card. Bounce and i will say a prayer for you and your babies.

i'm so sorry, i know how hard it is to loose one, but i couldn't imagine loosing 3 in such a short time, i imagine you are heartbroken!

thank you for sharing that poem, it made me cry. while i was reading it rusty came over and licked me, so i started to cry more, anyway, thank you!

Jenni, bless your heart. You've certainly had a lot of loss in a very short period of time. I hope that the transition goes smoothly for you. Stay with us and check in and let us know how you are now and then. You're a sweet person with a compassionate heart. A perfect person for a pup to put it's trust in. Thanks for sharing the note with us. It made me cry. Hang in there. It may take awhile but it will get better.

I am so very sorry for your loss! I know that words at this time, does not ease the pain. But I hope with time and friends the pain will ease.

I get very emotional with stuff that has anything to with animals. I thought that I could tough it out and read the poem, but no. I only made it through the first 2.5 lines and busted out in tears. I'm sure it was a wonderful poem with an all important message, but I just couldn't do it. It just makes me too sad, to know that bad things happen to animals or that some careless people can treat them so poorly. It breaks my heart.

I am so sorry to hear about your losses. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. That truly is a beautiful poem.

I am sorry for you loss -- I , too, received a very caring handwritten note from my vet when I lost my 9 yr old Yorkie, Mollie. It just goes to show that while there are vets out there that don't care much about our pets, there ARE some that realize they are like family to us.
The inside of my card read:

"Grieve not, nor speak of me with tears. Laugh and talk of me as if I were beside you.. I loved you so --'twas Heaven here with you."
