More than 2...what's you secret?? Do you try to stick to schedules? What about sleeping arrangements? and where to they stay during the day when you work, etc. I'm thinking of a third, I have 2 still intact males, and the one I'm considering is a little girl, which is a whole other problem. She's 5 months, 1 male is 3 months and the other is close to 2 yrs. Any advise.......good or bad appreciated. |
I have 6! 4 girls, 2 boys, all fixed. As for schedules, they are all on the same. We all get up around 7, they all free feed, so there is no food schedule, last call on pottying is at 10 and we all go to bed at the same time. Any new baby is always a bit more work, but once they get a bit older, they too will get on schedule. Everyone always asks me how I manage 6, but it just happened! I can't imagine managing 6 kids, but dogs, that I can handle! :D |
We have three babies. Two females and a male. We do try to keep them on a schedule of some sort but try and be flexable at the same time. We love having three. But your situation is a bit different with two unfixed males. It could get really interesting for you if you don't at least neuter one of them. Keep us posted. :) |
Right now I have a 6 y/o pom; three yorkies - two females and 1 male and am expecting a little girl on the second. My pom has always stayed home during the day. I am fortunate that I live in such a small town I can run home at lunch. We we first started getting the yorkies, my partner took them to work with him - we own the local gym - so they were there during the day. Over the last couple of months, we've been leaving them home - we have a doggy door that they have all learned to use. We still go home at lunch however. I have a female in heat now and when we are not at home, she wears a underwear contraption thing. |

Where do they all sleep? |
i have 3 Do you try to stick to schedules?yes 100%it makes it tons easier What about sleeping arrangements? they all have there own crate nd where to they stay during the day when you work, etc. I i dont work but when i go out there in there crates 'm thinking of a third, I have 2 still intact males, and the one I'm considering is a little girl, which is a whole other problem. you would have to get the female spayed so you wouldnt have puppies or get the males done |
Schatzie shares her home with many and for the most part we are all on schedules. We do the same thing daily so the scheduling was pretty much automatic. When we go "bye-bye" it just takes a little longer to gather their bags of stuff and load them into the vehicle. I think the only problem I've ran into is trying to walk more than two dogs at one time even with my husbands help. It sorta gets OUT OF CONTROL, LOL! :p I also schedule their vet appts on seperate days so Im not distracted by the khaos of multiple pets at my feet all fighting for my attention at once. :D The sleeping arrangements are easy, we all have our own beds. ;) Schatzie used to sleep with us but she has found her bed next to her sister more comfy plus she can get up if need be without waiting for me to place her off my bed. :aimeeyork |
My pom sleeps beside my bed. Three yorkies sleep with me. They all have they're favorite spot. I have one who is just under 2 lbs and I wouldnt let her sleep in the bed for the longest time as I was so afraid I'd role over on her. We will probably be having our next two yorks sleeping in the bed as well. It has actually worked out well - while in the crates, they still made messes but in the bed we've not have a single night time accident. |
