Hi everyone! I am new to yorkie talk and just wanted to ask a few questions. I am getting a new yorkie in about a month. I am sooooooo excited, you have no clue!! Anywayz, any advice you have for a first time yorkie puppy owner would be great! My lil girl will be with her breeder until she is 12 weeks. She is almost seven weeks and weighs about 1.4 pounds. is this a good weight? I want her to be healthy. Also my lil girl needs a name!!!! any thoughts on that would be great to. Thank u!!!!!

Hi. Welcome to YT. There is lots of good advice on here so just pick a topic you are interested in and search for it...
I have found that my babies name themselves. They sorta act and look a certain way and after a while a name can just come to you and stick....Sometimes, I consider the parents' names. For example: I have a new puppy now whose mom's name is BluSkyzSmilinAtMe. My girl is being called TwinkleLilStar..

Hi and welcome to YT. That is a good weight at almost 7 weeks. That is what Lucky weighed at that age and he is now around 7 lbs at 8 months. He took a real growing spirt around 6 mths old.

It's when your baby gets here that you'll have more specific questions based on her temperament and personality!!! LOL Your baby sounds small...mine is almost 10 weeks and she's just 1 lb. 6 oz!!! So we're both probably going to have small babies!!! I will be getting her in another week and a half!! Good luck to both of us!!!! lol

Congrats on your new baby! I have only been on this sight for a few weeks. Now I'm addicted. I have gotten alot of good ideas that I didn't think of and they work. People are so nice and really try to be helpful. There are many people who are very experienced with yorkies. Don't be afraid to ask anything even if you think it's silly. They know the answer. I have a male named Coco. He's 16mo. old and I have a female 7mo. her name is Pebbles. I am also getting a new addition , a female, in about 2 weeks, she's not ready to leave her mom yet. Her name will be Trixie. They are really the apple of my eyes. You will see they have so much love to give they're great. I have 4 "skin kids". These little ones are like a second litter for me. Gives me a chance to be a mommy to babies.

thanks all of yall..i used to ask questions on yahoo answers but they are sooo rude on there!!!ive done alot of research already but if i ask nething too basic they always say i shouldnt have a dog if i dont kno the answer! I still have a month til i get her so im trying to learn as much as I can...ill get some pics soon, i have a few but shes only a few weeks in them...i kno they change so much between about 5 and 7 weeks so I am hoping to get an updated one soon!!! ill keep yall posted...thanks for all the advise ive already gotten!!!keep it coming lol i wanna learn
