EMERGENCY! Help Needed for yorkie! I am getting a male yorkie in today, he's just a couple months old. The owners large dog snapped at him and fractured his leg. He needs plates put in. The surgery is $3000, or the owners would put him down. This little guy is in a lot of pain. I'll post up some pics when I get them! |
Tell them to surrender him to a rescue that would be able to get him the care he needs. |

The posters above had some great advice - good luck with him and I am saying a prayer for him - this just breaks my heart  |
Oh my. This poor baby. I hope someone can help him. So helpless. How can they just discard him and not even look for someone to help. I am sure a rescue somewhere in their area will take him. I pray they will. Thank you for helping him. |
Try to surrender him to: Rescue Me Yorkie Rescue Contact Jen ~ She is absolutly wonderful and I am 99.99999% she will take him in ASAP and make sure he gets better.... |
I actually found a vet that will help take care of the surgery! He's a God send and an angel!!! He will be in surgery tomorrow! He's also keeping him overnight tonight! I'm so glad it's worked out! |
That is great! I have never ever heard of that kind of surgery costing that much!!! Even at the expensive-beyond-all-getout animal hospital I worked at it wasn't that much!! It might have been 8-900. We had a rat terrier years ago that jumped from our really high bed and landed just right on its leg and needed a plate put in. That was about $120. Granted that was 10 years ago, but it wasnt 100 years ago!! |
They originally took the dog to the Petsmart vet, and I think they fed them a bunch of bull crap. I had the dog taken to my vet, one I recommend to everyone. They were even told no one in our area would even do the surgery...which I thought was ridiculous. Of course, my fave vet came through as always! And this baby is going to be on the road to recovery! Just another reason I will never recommend the Petmart vet in my area to anyone. |
I'm glad it worked out :) Are you going to keep him? |
WONDERFUL!!! so happy that it worked out for you and more importantly for that precious baby!!!!! Thanks for keeping us posted!! |
I am not going to be keeping him. The vet was able to work something out with the owner's, who really wanted to keep him. However, they need to figure out what they are going to do about the interaction between the two dogs. |
