Crying to his toy girlfriend Duke has a stuffed penguin as his girlfriend since he was a baby. Before he was neutered, he used to hump on the penguin. Now after he's neutered, he no longer humps but after every meal he takes the penguin by his mouth, runs around the apartment and cries. I'm not sure what this means, he's been doing this for a few months now and I'm confused, can it be that he's "manly" frustrated? Please help with any explanation or experiences you've had with this. |

Crying Zekie does this with any of his squeek toys and sometimes his tennis balls. I just think it is a play thing, or an attention getting thing. Zeke is 5 mo. old and not neutered. |

I'd never heard of anyone else experiencing this! It definitely isn't a male thing - neutered or otherwise. Our youngest (1 year old next week) does the same thing. She has one toy in particular that she will pick up, carry around the house, and whimper as she seems to be looking for a place to hide the toy. She never does it with any other toy (and our dogs have dozens of toys), and she only does it within a half hour or so after meals. I found it interesting and a little funny, but I didn't really try to figure out what was going on. Now that I hear that other dogs do it, I'd really like to know why! |

hmmm I'm glad to know that it's not a male thing then. Duke would only does it to his penguin and runs around the whole place. If it's not because of the neuter then he must want to share his food maybe :)? since it's right after the meal...I have no idea but glad to know I'm not alone. |

My Daisy does that too with her toys (mostly a stuffed baby she has), but I think she cries for attention , it`s like she wants us to play with her, at first we thougth she was hurt or something. |

Buddy does the exact same thing after eating dinner. Never fails. He runs to his clown, his best bud and proceeds to prance around the house crying for a few minutes. Never gave it much thought but watch everynight after dinner to see if he does it. He never misses a night. |

My Suzi has cried and whined at our neighbors outside kitten .She wants to play with the kitten, yet every time the kitty moves she jumps back , then starts making A low, crying noises, The kitty does not care less, and is not scared at all. Perhaps it is out of frustration? not anything sexually, just maybe they are so excited to play and their energy is directed to the toy, or in Sizi case, A kitty. :animal-pa |
