my 2 yorkies Hi, I have 2 yorkshire terriers both are brother and sister from the same liter. They are 7 years old. We adopted our daughter 2 years ago and the dogs have finally adjusted somewhat to her however they are urinating and defecating all over our home, at all times of the day. We had a small problem before we adopted our daughter (nothing serious) but now it is just too much to handle. I think it is all behavioral. I have had them checked our with our vet and they are perfectly healthy. I am seriously considering trying to find a home for both of them as they CANNOT be separated. I am so afraid to let them go, because we have always treated them so well. They are inside dogs only and I am afraid someone wont be kind to them. Am I crazy. I love them, but I am worn out with a 3 year old who is not potty trained and 2 dogs as well. I would like to find a home with a widower or husband and wife who are older, and could give them the love and much attention they need. We live in Plano Texas which is next to Dallas. Any ideas even on  or know anyone? Thanks Chinamom |
I've heard of yorkies that regress and the only advice I can give is to NOT let them have the run of the house. Many people start over crate training! Especially after so many accidents...they have to learn it is NOT acceptable. Can you put them in a small area....I would use pads...and start over from scratch. Daizy had gone through her moments where she had a few accidents during a day...so I would put her in an area where she didn't have full access to the house and put down a pad. She learned quickly that her potty behavior was not tolerated.. Also have you used an Enzyme on the urine? If you haven't then they will continue to smell it in the carpet...if that's where they are going...and will keep going potty in that area. Regardless of what you do. Good luck, Hope you can get it sorted out without having to re-home them. |
