At what age do they stop being a "puppy" MB is 4 1/2 month at what age do they stop being a "puppy":animal36 |
Mocha still acts like a puppy. She's 7 months old  At this rate, I'd expect her to "mature" by the time she's 2 years old. :D As of the physical side of things... I read some people here say 10 months, some say one year.. |
Gus recently turned 1, and I haven't noticed any real change in behavior (chewing in particular), even after neutering. The food packaging indicates about one year of age to change from puppy to adult food, although some packaging says earlier is optional. |
Well, if they are supposed to stop acting like puppies by age 1 or 2, somebody forgot to tell Ellie. She is 7 years old and while she doesn't chew things anymore and she has calmed down from puppyhood, she definately doesn't just lay around all day either. She enjoys her naps but is very playful and inquisitive.:) |
I thought it was one yrs old, however, Yorkie's really never lose their playfulness or getting into mischief. |
Mine calmed down alot at 1 1/2 |
I have always been told that puppies are considered dogs at age two. Now that may not be true behavior wise. But Bentley is only five months old, so ill let you know when we get there! lol  |
Shelby has always been very calm so I couldn't tell with her.... but I've always thought that by 2 or 3 they are considered full grown adults.... (dogs in general, not just yorkies).... but idk.... they can be puppies forever I suppose :p |
awwww! Thank you all for your replies! wow every single Yorkie is so Gorgeous! I wonder how you guys post the pics on here like flashing so cute! all your pups are beautiful!:aimeeyork |

The soical skills are done growing at 2years ish and the mental stuff by 3 years ish depending on the dog your looking at till three years till they slow down a little and act like a adult dog. They need to be treated like a young "child " or "teenager" not a full grown dog till then. JL |
