That is SO scary! My 2 have step in harnesses - but Lucy managed to get out of hers in the car yesterday. She was roaming the backseat 'til I pulled over and put her back in the harness attached to the carseat.

I find I have better luck with the harnesses made like clothes with a "D" ring on back - neither of them have managed to escape from those-----yet!

Like I said, I felt tugging on the leashes and was talking to some of the folks there and a lady walks up and is holding Daisy!!! Talk about a shocker.

I can't remember who it was who's husband sells them, but it was in a thread about a dog that was missing. I should have written it down.
I remember she said that her husband made them, but so far they were just for bigger dogs, she was thinking about making smaller collars for the little dogs.
I even went to their website :confused: I wish I could remember. It seems they were around $75- $100, but I could be totally off base.

I don't know if you remember or not, but Daisy and Angelo were wearing identical harnesses the day of the meet up. Or maybe Abby had it on, but either way, Daisy was wearing that same harness last night. It's a step in harness that buckles on the back. I think it must have been the sweater that helped to her slip out.

I like that kind too. Abby and Daisy have a couple of those. Rena from Barkin dog clothes made them a really cute set this summer with thier names on them. They are very nice and will be great for winter because I think they will help keep them warmer.

OMG! I had forgotten about that! How in the world did she get out of that sucker? I can just imagine how scary that would be. I've never had to watch 2 at once, Angelo is usually on my lap.

Let me know if you find that tracker device. Now you have me cautious. I wonder if you can track from your computer with the micro chip thing?

Yeah, if I had only had Daisy with me, of course I wouldn't have felt the tugging and thought they were on thier leashes. It was only Abby tugging.

They were both all excited because there were two other dogs there and lots of kids and of course FOOD! :D

Hubby told me last night to tighten that "sucker" up! hahaha

I dreamed about losing Abby and Daisy all night...in my dream, I kept looking and looking. I would find them and then they were gone again....ugh.

I'm so glad Daisy is OK!!

We've had bad luck with home made vest harnesses for the very same reason so now we use Step-In Silk Harnesses made by chattiesmom that I swear by! It buckles and then the leash clips on to the D-ring from each side of the harness. It's important that the harness is pretty tight, too.

OH man Tammy how scary!!!! I'm so glad that Daisy is ok!!! I would have went home right away too. :0)

thank you :) I'm glad she's OK too.

Although Daisy's harness isn't from Chattiesmom (I'm sure we'll have one some day :D) you just described her harness to a tee! I've used this harness on her sooooooo many times...and never not once has she gotten out of it. I don't know what happened! Like I said, it was still attached to the leash and her sweater was inside the harness...like the invisible dog :eek:

I bought Pixie 2 Puppia Harnesses..they are the Jacket style and they have a click shut buckle AND velcro..I'm a big fan of them;):thumbup:

Yep we have one of those two for Gypsy, I need to get Kayla one too but I'm waiting for Crufts because they are cheaper there. We have about 7 harnesses altogether, we have step in ones are leather with the leash attached, normal harnesses and then the Puppia one. I found the Puppia ones is never a problem, the step in one is never a problem either but the normal harness I have found that Gypsy could get out of while wearing either a coat or sweater under it... I started getting clothes that have the hole in the back for the harness and it's never happened again since. I think that when you have clothes under the harness you can't fasten it as tight as you would need to and that's why they manage to wriggle out of them.

Yes, Abby's little boyfriend Winston has a puppia harness and his Mom really likes it too. I need to look into getting one for Abby and Daisy. I think they are about 20-25 dollars at the little doggy boutique here.
I took the girls for a walk today and used the same harnesses and no problem what so ever :confused: I really think it was the sweater that caused her to be able to slip out?
