How long did it take you.............. How long did it take anyone to train there baby to sit and such. I was just amazed because I worked with Jaxx for one week about sitting and now every single time i say sit, HE DOES IT!!! I didn't know if they caught on very quick or what. But I am so proud of my BABY!!!!:) |
Congratulations. It's a great feeling when things work the way we want them to. At first it was hit and miss, until I learned the "trick" at PetsMart puppy training. The instructor got Gus to sit immediately, and repeatedly. |
Took Winston all of maybe 2 min. to learn "sit" with a treat. Now we practice every day. I think they are very smart babies. :D |
He may get to the point where anytime he sees me going for treats he automatically sits down haha |
"Down", as in lay down, was interesting, and I chuckle watching him assume the position. |
That is my next task...and I can't wait... they are just too funny and full of life its fun to teach new things and watch them do them just for you ;) |
Don't you just love it when they get "it"? :D We practice each command for about a week and then added another and practiced both to reinforce the first one. It is so cute when they know what you saying to them. |

you couldn't have said it better!!!!!! |
MeiLing must have broke the record for all of my furkids...she learn it all in 1 minute each...right when we got back into town with her...she amazed me by how quick she learn....she is too smart for her own good...but couldn't have wish for it any other way...hehe she knows how to sit, laydown, roll over, high five, and bang bang... with bang bang she is very dramatic..she doesn't die instantly..she has to act it out like in one of those old western movies... they understand it in vietnamese and english...hehe |
I'm dying to see the bang bang trick!! haha! That sounds so cute and funny! Alfie got the 'sit' command the first day I taught him. I love when he learns a new trick. It's exciting. |
Sapphire learned all her tricks very quickly. It took only a couple times before she got the hang of them. |
We did things a little backward. Pebbles just didn't want to listen for the longest time and I had pretty much given up on her. Then I brought home Doodlebug in June and started working on sit, stay, give paw, roll over, bang bang, high five, shake right and left and he caught on immediately with a treat. Pebbles was watching the entire time as he learned all of the tricks and got a treat. I looked at Pebbles and said sit and all of a sudden she was sitting, rolling over, whatever I asked all for a cheerio! The little brat! Then when I brought Bogey home last month, the poor little guy didn't even know what a treat was let alone what a trick was. Usually after coming in I say who wants a treat? They run for the kitchen cabinet and before I could get there they would be sitting for a treat except poor Bogey. It took him about 2 days to understand the mad dash for the kitchen was a treat and now he is right in there with the other 2. I say "sit" everyone sits and puts up a paw INCLUDING my Bogey! The first time he did it on his own I cried! |
sound so cute! hehe...the little things they do that bring tears to our eyes! hehe |
The basic commands were the easiest...it's the other ones I want Daizy to do that's taking longer!! |
