Whiskers?? Since Tiffany had her hair "butchered" the hair growing back around her nose seems to have a lot of really coarse black whiskers in it... its making her hair stick straight out and it won't lay down. Does anyone have any experience with this? |
Otis has those coarse black whiskers. The poke me in the eye sometimes. I try to trim them when I can, but I think he's just stuck with them. |
That's because there not suppose to be cut so there growing back weird. |
A good fine grooming comb will pull them right out when you run it over that area - and mine don't seem to mind it at all, so I don't think it hurts them. |

Oh good! Thanks so much! |
I use a fine comb on Joey's mustache area, and didn't notice that the whiskers were being pulled out until one day he yelped, and there were two in the comb. I had seen them before in the comb, but it never dawned on me they were whiskers. Next time he had a bath, with his face wet, the whiskers really stood out, so I clipped them close, without getting any of the softer hair, since is layed down. I'm not sure this is the best way, to clip or just to comb them out, but that little yelp scared me. |
good question! my chewy has whiskers, and when i take her to the groomers, they cut them, but i've always wondered if they should be cut or avoided... ? they grow in weird and i'd like to cut them but aren't you not supposed to cut cat whiskers? so, is it ok to cut dog ones? i'm not sure how that works... |
