Where to Sleep Johnny has always slept in his crate in the kitchen-12 months now-and 2 nights ago I brought him upstairs to my bedroom and crated him to sleep for the night. He was so good in it...just like downstairs. Last night, I tried to put him in the crate in my bedroom but he put the brakes on and jumped onto my bed and slept there until 3:30 :clock:when he thought it was time to play. I captured him and put him in the crate for the rest of my "beauty sleep" which was ruined by that time.;) What do I do tonight? :aimeeyork |
Pick one place that you want his crate and stick to that one place. It makes them more comfortable. ;) |
I guess it really depends on what you want to do. My baby was crate trained for about the first 2 years of his life, but for a short time he slept with me also. I normallly didn't have this problem, after a few times of telling him to go low down and me ignoring him he would get the point. After a week or so he might calm down. I am a light sleeper and found that I would rather sleep by myself, even though he didn't bother me. I now have him sleeping in a pet bed at the end of my bed. He loves his bed and he won't even get up until the morning time when i get up. Even if I go to the restroom at night he will not follow me. What I actually did was teach him the stay command. So after telling him to STAY a few times at night he learned not to follow me. Once you figure out what you really want to do, you just have to train him to do what you want him to do....hehe;) |
