The Sheraton was chosen because is was one of only 2 hotels that would allow us to A) have that many pets on site and B) allow us to bring pets into the ballroom during the meeting and dinner. The costs of the other willing venue were almost double the prices we got at the Sheraton. |
I'm getting so excited and can't wait to meet everyone!!! I don't think anyone answered my previous question though....even though I purchased raffle tickets with my registration, will there be an opportunity to purchase more at the meetup before the drawing??? |
Answers I will pass the information about the Saturday Night dinner along. I do not think they knew about the dinner. Looking forward to a great weekend. Also, there are several events that allow dogs. Mt. Vernon allows you to walk their grounds with your pets. Also, there is a great winery that allows dogs. It is called Barrel Oak Winery. It is about an hour west of Alexandria. For those Yorkie owners who will be around on Sunday, it would be a great time. Old Towne Alexandria is pet friendly so all the stores allow pets and restaurants allow dogs in outside seating. Please, contact me for any questions or concerns. |
Just a reminder... All hotel reservations must be made NO LATER THAN 5:00PM on June 16th, 2009. |

MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT!!!!! Admin along with the 2009 Meetup Team are so excited about the meetup that we have decided to lower the registration fee to $85 for the rest of the registration period! Time is running out so register today... ;) We cannot WAIT to meet everyone in Alexandria! |
What a great idea, especially in these tough times! I am looking forward to meeting lots and lots of people and their babies! |
I just wanted to say how excited I am about going to Virginia and meeting all of you. I've paid my registration and booked my hotel so I'm all set to go. I just have to decide now which of my girls I'll be bringing. I initially thought Mica but the problem with her is that she is so particular about where she goes pee. I'm going to miss her so much though if I don't bring her. The trip is so long from Canada and very little time in between connecting flights. She basically won't be able to go potty from the time we leave home until arriving at the Washington airport. The last time we traveled with all three girls she literally would not pee until we arrived at our destination. Lindi will use pee pads and Maggie is a good traveler so I may bring her instead. Lindi is quite goofy and unpredicatable so I'm not sure how she'll be by July. I'd really appreciate any suggestions that any of you have. :D |
Cory, you have to bring them all. I can't wait to see them in person. |
"My bags are packed I'm ready to go" Well almost, as it's autumn here now, I am putting some of my summer clothes aside for THE trip! How exciting is this... tra la, tra la! |
VERY EXCITING HAPPENINGS AT THE 2009 MEETUP! Mike AKA Alaskayorkie and Eddie have offered to provide an agility demonstration followed by a question and answer session. Since there is nothing cuter than a well trained yorkie with a bunch of neat tricks, I know everyone will want to be there to learn how to be as cool as Mike and Eddie!!! |

That might be worth the price of the ticket right there :D |
