Hello! My name is Lexie and I just adopted a 5 month old Yorkie/Shih Tzu mix from the local animal control. Her name is Daphne. She weighs 5lbs. I didn't plan on getting another dog. Especially a small one. But, I couldn't pass her up. She was just too sweet. She was surely worth the small adoption fee. I made a photo album for her already and tried to post some of her here as well. Hope to talk to you all soon!

Your baby is A precious little pup! She is sooo adorable. I would not have been able to pass her up either !
The mix that she is makes her a gorgeous pup. She is still growing so she ought to get a litte bigger, but probably not much. :aimeeyork

OMG How beautiful she is!! I can't believe she ended up at a shelter, how did she end up there? Was she a lost dog that animal control picked up? How long was she at the shelter? So do you have 4 yorkies plus this little one now? How are the other dogs adjusting to her and what are their ages? You have to post a group photo now! :animal36:aimeeyork

She is sooo cute. I just lost Oliver only after having him for nine days and the breeder takes no responsibility Ace Yorkies formally Tiger Kennel but she makes me smile, she is so precious. Congrats to her and you hold on to her tight, I could not imagine how she ended up at the shelter!

Welcome YorkieMix to Yorkie Talk. :D I have a Shih Tzu and Yorkie. I always wondered what a Yorkie/Shih Tzu mix would look like, because I like both of these breeds. Thank you for sharing you puppy's pictures with us. Your dog looks beautiful and her face reminds me of a Shih Tzu, especially around the eyes.

We just love to hear it when people have saved an animal from the shelter and given it a FOREVER HOME!!!!! That is AWESOME!!! We took 2 BIG dogs from a Shelter one time...we were as surprised by that as the shelter was...lol But it was the BEST thing we ever did....well besides getting our DAIZY! (yorkie)!!! You can't go through life without a yorkie...yorkie/mix!!!! That's how I feel anyhow...lol You will love it here!!! Good luck with your new baby!!!:aimeeyork

Thanks for all the welcomes!:D Daphne was turned in as a stray. Someone found her in a busy area of town. She had been there since the 29th. I got her on the 10th. She wasn't there for very long. I can't believe someone just dumped her. She's the sweetest little gal ever!

She is my only tiny dog. My other 4 consist of a 16lb Pomeranian. He's not fat. Just big. He's from a shelter too. A Rhodesian Ridgeback mix I adopted. A Siberian Husky. She was my first show dog. Retired now. And Talon. a 10 month old Australian Shepherd. He's my up and coming show pup! They all get along fine. My Ridgeback is just in love with her. She just stares at her. Watching her every move.
