I was thinking of just bringing it home, what is the worse that could happen?
marital strain. instability for the new pup. less to bargain with if he brings home a new car or time share or something w/o telling you. :( (doesn't seem like the same, I know, but your new pup will hopefully be with you longer than most cars).

you've got good reasons for getting a second pup and I hope you are both able to bring one home soon!!

yes, and the pup stands to lose too, if he has to leave after believing that your his new mommy.

Good luck! Maybe hubby will change his mind.:)

Be careful about bringing home a puppy that your husband doesn't want. He may fall in love with it, but then again, he may resent the puppy for your inconsideration.

I have a 3 year old yorkie as well and I live with my brother. It seems some men just hate litte dogs. I want another baby to but I would never bring one home without him accepting it first. Why bring a dog into that type of atmosphere? They can fill that tension as well. My brother doesn't even pay attention to my baby and he gets aggravated with him quickly. We used to bicker about it alot. But he has gotten better.
How is your husband with the one dog now? :)

But my hubby admitted to me he loves Buddy, so I just know that he would love the new pup. He takes and loves animals so much. That is what I don't understand. :confused:

If I remember correctly in a previous post you said you had been sick for sometime - correct? Does your husband have to help you take care of the dogs? If so he may really not be up to taking on another dog and he may resent your decision. If the dog is free why not ask your husband to let you get it on a trial basis - give it 30 days - and if it does not work out be willing to find another home for it. ( I think thatYorkie can win over your husband's heart in 30 days!!:))

HMMM...you say he admitted he loved him, but does he pay much attention to him or help take care of him. My brother pays no attention to my baby :teethysmi , maybe you to need to talk about it more. But I definatly would not bring a new puppy home unless he can agree. :hug:

He does pay attention and plays with him and takes him for at least one of his 5 walks per day. He was the one that wants him to sleep with us, he talks to him in a baby voice, he LOVES him and gives him LOTS of attention and care. That is why I can't figure it out.


I am sick, but he does not have to do any thing related to the dog's responsibility. But he does cuz he love him!


But I do like the trial idea. That may work. I am gonna give it a whirl, it cant hurt any, right? :rolleyes:

Well he caved.
I mentioned the 30 day trial and he just caved and said "whatever makes you happy!"

He knew i was a little upset. I told him on of us was going to be hurt or upset. He would be upset if I got the dog, and I would be upset if I didn't.

He didn't want me to be upset, so he caved.
So tomorrrow we are getting him!

I am happy! I just hope Buddy is happy as well! :)
