Looking at a New Baby Sister for ZsaZsa & Zoe I found a sister for ZsaZsa & Zoe but she is so tiny. She is so 16 weeks old and weighs 15 ounces. How big do you think she will get? ZsaZsa & Zoe are about 3lbs each full grown. Thanks for you help. |
That is a very small pup.....I hope you are proceeding with caution....when they are very tiny that could indicate underlying health issues as in the heart, liver or kidneys.....Is this pup eating, running and behaving like a healthy pup? Is this pup the "runt" of the litter or does this person deliberately breed for tinies? ......I hope this works out for you.....Good luck....... |
Ask the breeder if she/he has had the puppy Vet. checked. If she says yes, then get the name of the Vet. and call to find out if the puppy checked out ok. If so, then ask the breeder if you could have your own Vet. check the puppy out before you agreed to buy her. |
Thank you so much for your great advice. I am going to wait until she 6 mos old to be safe. |
That is good to hear....with a baby that small hypoglycemia would be a serious concern, it would be danger yo her health if no one was at home through the day time and the night to monitor such a tiny one........One this small would require some much needed extra care......I hope it works out for you if this is "the one" for you..... |
My furbaby baby weighed 1 lb. 2 oz. when I got her at 14 weeks. She was the runt of the litter.---Breeder went with me to the vet. She will be 2 in November, now weighs 3 lbs. 9 oz. Has had absolutely NO health issues! However, I am cautious about her size----jumping off furniture, larger dogs, etc. |

Question......and I'm not asking how much your adoption fee is. But, I for one would not charge for one this small. My wee ones that are small (less than 2 pounds) at 3 to 4 months of age, I place in qualified homes that know how to care for these dinky doo pups. Even though they check out thorougly at the vets.....I still don't know if anything could go wrong.....So, I don't sell heartache, but place them with the understanding that there might be vet costs down the road. |
I wouldn't doubt that wee one won't weigh more than 2-2 1/2 lbs.!!!! Good luck!! |
