Well I got a new job.. But ??'s :) Well I got a new job at Dillards in the new mall opening next month  But I cant decide what to do with my little ones. My Brownie and I am not worried she is always good but for Princess(5m) and Koda(4m) what should I do as far as confinement. They usually just run around since I was always home and if I did go out it was never for to long. I can't take and put them in a room with a baby gate they both climb that so what do you guys suggest, Crate together, Crate them apart, or just let them run in the bathroom( just worried they like to chew the bathroom walls) I dont want them to get sick or hurt while I am away. I will be working about(9:30-6:30-7:30) 8hours a day, I have made a plan with the hubby he is in school from 8-12:30 M-F home after , then will work from 2-11pm so he can let them run around when he is home and out to potty then put them away before he leaves but I just cant decide how I should keep them they have never been crated before? Please help me decide what I should do ? Just worried about my babies and I am going to miss them so bad. This is my first big full time job since I had my so so I am excited, I have been doing a little child care since in my home. My son is starting Kinder on Monday and I start work so it will be a big day for everyone even the puppies. :aimeeyork |
Congratulations on the new job! I think I would go ahead and crate them together to be safe. I have a cage that sets up to 4' x 4' - they come in 2', 3', 4' heights. You can put a bed, toys, pp pad and food and water in there. I keep mine in there at night and when we are away. |
We keep our three together in a 4x4 crate when we have to leave them. They get along great. Congratulations on your new job. Everything will work out just fine. Don't worry. |
Congratulations on the new job. If you are going to crate them I think you should start now to start getting them use to it. I guess others will have more advise for you. |
Yes I was going to go to petsmart tonight but it got to late so I am going in the morning but I guess I will get the biggest crate I can find. I just worry about all of my babies skin and fur. (You know us moms) Thanks for the advice I am going to start them on Thursday and Friday (and pro through the weekend just to get them a little use to it)I go for my training so I guess we will all be training on Thursday and Friday. |
Laura I just wanted to ask where you got your crate? |
1 Attachment(s) It is really a cage. Just 8 sections 2x2 and 2x3 (we have two) all hooked together and closes with latch. We got ours at Tractor Supply, but they have them at petsmart and I think at Walmart, too. It folds to about 4" deep, so you sorta know what size box you are looking for. |
I use the cage that comes in sections, also. I have mine in the shape of a rectangle. I put their bed, blankets and toys in one end. Food and water in the middle and a pee pee pad at the other end by the door. That way they can sleep, eat and go potty, all day long, if need be. :D Works great. |
1 Attachment(s) I kept Esme in an x-pen when she was a younger. She never tried to climb out, but if your babies are climbers, it might not work. I bought it at Petsmart. |

I leave my 2 in an x-pen when I am gone. Mine has 10 panels, so the square footage is about 50 feet, I believe. Plenty of room for their 2 beds, pee pads, food and toys. |
