Anyone from Grande Prairie, AB? Food question. Hi, all. I'm just wondering is anyone from the Grande Prairie, Alberta, Canada area? I've been having some problems with my babies and I think it's from the food. Now does anyone have a list of the best foods to feed their pups? I'm currently feeding them Royal Canin. I'm going into the city on Friday and want to try another food, but if there's anyone in the GP area what do you feed your pups and where do you get it from. Any info or advice would be great. Thanks! |
Hi! I am not from Alberta, but am from Canada! I was having problems too with one of my yorkies. I beleive it was related to food allergies also, grains in particular, and if i'm correct (please someone correct me if i am wrong) there are grains in Royal canin too. I then found an great dog food food called Orijen made right here in Canada (alberta!) that i reasearched about. I found (one of the very few retailers) here in Quebec and odered from them. My babies all love the food, i'll never go back nor switch! Has great smell to it, no grains, 70% meats, and a plus they have nice firm black poops My yorkie who was having skin issues has made a 80% improvement, they all have nice-full shiny/soft coats, i am really impressed with orijen. Anyways...lol i think i've blabbed enough...:p I wish you well in finding the right food for you and your babies! Here is the link... go and visit their website! Thanks for replying. I thought about putting them on Orijen before I put them on RC. But after talking with my vet, she thought the RC would be better. I'm confused, lol. I do think I need to switch them over now, I just need to figure out what to put them on. Thank you again, I'm going to look into Orijen and read up about it. |
I spoke to my vet about it too, she didn't recommend it because of the high protein, but i knew that taking away the grain/fillers the protein levels would go up no doubt, I was weary to try it because of high protein statements which are claimed to be just myths. But after seeing first hand what it does, i would go back. I think everyone needs to find what works best for our babies, what ever food it may be. Good luck! |
