I am soooo nervous my baby milu is getting spayed tomorrow, and I am SOOOOOO nervous!!! i know that almost all pet owners have to go through this, but still, i am so nervous about it!!!! she is 7 months old and 2.7lbs. i hope everything's going to be ok!!! i have been trying to feed her more to fatten her up a little for the surgery. i know, no more food after 9pm tonight! AHHHHH! what do you guys do to keep your mind off it!? |
Is hard, I was so nervous too, but it will pass and everything is going to be fine:hug: |
aww I was very nervous too, but everything will go smoothly and before you know it your baby will be back in your arms. :) |
:yorkietal:hug::hearts-xx awwww dont worry she will be fine . my poppy was spayed last november and she did brilliant she will soon be back with you for kisses and cuddles :) i will think of you both too love jill n poppy xx :aimeeyork |
thank you everyone for the encouraging words :) but i think i am still really nervous, because i can't sleep!!! :( :( |
Praying for your little girl today. She'll be fine and it'll all be over with soon. Let us know how she's doing. |
I am always a nervous wreck and the vet always calls me as soon as she is out of surgery so I can rest easier. I try and go shopping to pass the time. Milu will be fine but I will say a prayer for her. |
God bless your little Milu and keep her safe during her op. Katie was spayed several weeks agoand has put on so much weight since. She doesn't stop eating now. Hugs Shirl x x |
I feel for you, I think this is so hard. Some people shop for little baby preemie onesies that she can wear after surgery so she won't lick her incision. They look so cute in them, and make sure the camera is ready because we want to see pictures. Best of luck, my prayers are with you both. |
she will do just fine.. :) I will keep her in my thoughts and prayers |
Thank you everyone. I dropped milu off this morning at the vet. It was hard, you know.....handing your baby over to them for surgery:cry8:... but i brought milu her bed, her piglet, and her blanket (which i slept with last night, so milu can smell her mommy on her blanket today) to keep her feeling a little better while she stays at the vet today. i've been trying to not think about her today so i don't go crazy... i can call the vet at 2:00pm to find out how she is doing. i am so scared. |
I know exactly how you feel!!! Marcel was about 2.8 when he was neutered at 10 mths old and I was beside myself. I'll be thinking of you and Milu - and watching for an update. :) |

she is not really moving now, she is just lying in her bed. i dont know if i should put her on puppy pad so she can go to the bathroom if she needs to or if i should just not move her? should i try to give her nutrical and water or just let her rest? i am afraid if i offer her water or food, she might vomit and make things worse for her. what should i do? |
items/procedures these were the items/procedures done today: 1 Rimadyl Post Sx Pain Management 1 Rimadyl injection (Pain Management) 1 Pre Op Blood Panel 1 I.V. Catheter/Fluids 1 clavamox drops 15ml 1 Amputate Dewclaws 1 Ovariohysterectomy 1 Injection (1-3cc) these were the items on the bill, milu also had some of her baby teeth pulled, but i don't see anything about that listed. the dewclaw was because when i took her to the groomer, the groomer informed me that one dewclaw was still growing nails, the groomer said it's not a big deal, but i just asked the vet to do whatever he thinks is the best. (and i guess removing it is better?) i hope this was a good decision, to have the remaining dewclaw removed, and i hope this is not going to cause milu too much pain. :( i was also a little tiny bit sad when they weighed milu before the surgery today. she was 2.6 lbs, she lost 0.1 lbs? i don't know why? i mean, she's been eating fine, and i have been trying to fatten her up in preparation for her spay surgery, but i guess i didn't do as well as i had hoped... |
Oh, don't beat yourself up - you did just great with Milu!!! Scales are so very different - and just like humans, a dog's weight can vary too - throughout the day, or from day to day. How is she doing now? It would be normal for her to be very, very sleepy/groggy tonight - so that's normal; that's just the anesthesia. Do try to give her some water, and some Nutrical is just fine. If she wants to eat, that's fine too. Hopefully, they sent you home with pain meds - and be SURE to use them for her, as they directed. Definietly use them, as she will heal better if she is not hurting/stressed. She will perk up some time tomorrow. :) |
