Biewer Help Please! I have been doing some research on Biewers and would love to get one a little later down the line. I ran across this ad and this pup doesn't look alot different than Harley. Most of the pups I have seen are almost all white with just a little black. Could someone tell me if they think this is legit or misrepresentation? 3 Attachment(s) I can't say for sure, but I would think this may be a splitter pup (one parent yorkie, one parent Biewer). Here is a link to the Biewer standard. Standard Just thought I would share my baby Darbee with you |
i think the $475 is what throws me off.. he could be a spiltter but you never know |

The standard for coloring is: "Coloring of the coat of the trunk and the head piece are as follows: Rather white or blue-white broken or closely blue absolute, or black, without brown coloring. Hair on the breast, pure white on the belly, and the legs. The head with white-blue-gold, symmetrical colored." There are lots of great Biewer sites if you need more information. |

if a splitter looks like a biewer, they can call it a biewer:) |
I would run the other way  IF that is a splitter, most reputable breeders that have splitters, are very very careful where they end up, and don't put them out there with breeding rights. There are many good responsible Biewer breeders in the USA now. I would suggest doing a google search on Biewer breeders, and then talk to them and go see them if possible. |

My webmaster has updated my site with lots of new Biewer pictures and my trip to Germany. No splitters. A biewer is supposed to have 4 white lets and at least the tip of the tail. |
i agree that a true biewer will look like one and meet the color standards. but my splitter is registered as a biewer and does not meet the color standards.. so there are lots of people probably selling biewers that are actually splitters...kathy has nice looking biewers that meet standards:) but there is no other choice on the registry.. either biewer yorkie or yorkie...splitter is not a choice..:animal-pa |

I agree there are lots of reputable biewer breeders out there with websites. |
Thinks for all the help guys! I think I'm going to email and just ask if this pup is a splitter. I have found lots of wonderful Biewer websites, just not any in my area. Right now, I am just enjoying my Harley whom I've only had for a couple of months but I eventually want to get him a friend! Jeri and Harley:aimeeyork |

To all of you that helped me with this thread, I just wanted to let you know that I did email the seller and ask if this baby was a splitter pup. She didn't know what "splitter" meant but told me the breeder labeled this pup as an F2 Biewer. Said dad is full biewer and that mom was gold, I'm assuming black and gold. Also said that if this pup was bred with another biewer that it would produce full blooded biewers? Not sure how that is genetically possible! Jeri and Harley:aimeeyork |

The term splitter is a commonly known term in the biewer world. |

some do not understand that a biewer is still a yorkie....just that they carry the pie bald gene....if you have their DNA done it still comes up yorkie.... also the gold that was mentioned may be the golden gene carrier.... |

she should not advertise him as a biewer without saying that he is a splitter. is she a broker? she said she is not the breeder? brokers are not a good thing.. but it might be a great puppy.. i would go see for sure in person:aimeeyork before buying him.. |

Really Ceasar? And I am sorry but who told you this? The breed origin, Germany, still to this day registers by color, not by biewer to biewer breedings. Look to the registry history from Germany. Just because people in here is the US decided to change the whole concept on what a biewer is doesn't mean it so. The picture I seen is no Biewer, sorry. I have to agree with everyone else it might be a F2 as explained in other posts or as the breeder responded to the question. |
he looks like either a yorkie or a maybe a parti gene carrier due to the white chest and chin like my Kioko...but don't take my word for it...heeh |
