poor guy - is he going thru something stressful ? do you think he could have a UTI ? Maybe try taking him out more for walks - and praising him when he goes where he's susposed to go. It sounds like there's more going on for him to do that....

I agree with red98. He could have an infection - and peeing on MOMMIE'S bed is a sure way to get your attention and help. I think I would get that checked out. I strongly believe that there is usually a reason (that makes sense only to them sometimes) that dogs behave as they do. He may be feeling threatened and 'marking his territory' with YOU; but because he ran to his crate afterward as if he knew he did something wrong, he may just be asking for help.

A vet visit is definitely in order. He might have a urinary tract infection or even juvenile diabetes.

I don't know about there other products but the Belly Band are great!

Teddy started peeing in places that he never used to pee in. Took him to the vet and they found crystals in his urine. The antibotics cleared him right up however, but I would get him checked out just to rule out all possibilities

I don't want to rehome him. I have put in way too much money and time into this little boy. He is my baby and my son is in LOVE with him, they are literally best friends!! He is crate trained, and he does go outside to play but we didn't potty train him to pee outside, he is to go on the wee wee pads in the kitchen on the tile, and he was doing great this whole time, up until a few months ago. Why are you saying he is scared?? Whay is he scared of?? Why would he get on my bed and pee then run into his cate with his tail down? I don't know what I can do to help him.

For urine in carpet Mix 1 tsp. Dawn dish liquid, 1 tsp. of baking soda and 16 oz of hydrogen peroxide together. Pour directly onto the urine spot. Do not blot, rub or dry. Let it dry naturally and then vacuum over. There will be a noticeble white powder residue on top of the carpet.
It works.
This is also the same thing to use to remove skunk smell from dogs and if it can do that it can work on urine too.

No nothing stressful...he hasn't been in the crate for more than 4 hours...he was going on the pad faithfuly and we'd make such a big deal and he'd run to us and sit & wait for his cookie, he knew. Just like now when he pees everywhere, he knows he is in toruble and runs to his crate to hide. I don't know. I will take him to the vet to check on the UTI....how do they tet for that?? Also when he pees now it is like he pees and runs....so it is a big puddle then dribbles.....:(

A simple urine test can tell your vet if he has a urinary tract infection, crystals in his urine or even diabetes.

Please take him to your vet right away. He may have a health issue causing his accidents. He may not be able to help it.

Nature's Miracle, sold at most petstores, is what really helped us. He wouldn't pee in the same spot then.

At night time, I had a crate for him with a soft blankie right next to our bed. He understood that he was sleeping there and we slept in our bed. He never peed in his bed, the brat! :)
Now, ofcourse, all 5 sleep with us in our bed and hog the comforter!

It took us almost a year and a half to potty train our little Bruiser and we ended up getting wood floors, in the family and living rooms, for I could never feel the carpets ever got really deep cleaned, even though I had a monthly contract with Stanley Steemers, the carpet cleaning guys.

We had taken him to the vet's to see if he had any urinary tract infections and they discovered that he needed liver shunt surgery. So, the lesson learned, is that the puppies understand that in order to get your attention they have to do something brazen.

Take your little bud to the vet's and have them do a liver enzyme test alongwith a blood and urine test, hopefully, its nothing, but rule out the possibility.

Your hubby needs to realize that your doggie is just a toddler and needs some training time. Yes, it is his home, but, he is sharing it with people and pets who are together because of love. This is family. And everyone tries to help one another when it is a family. And your yorkie baby is just that, he is a baby who needs a lot of patience and training to be the best little boy that he can be, when he is all grown up.

Remind your husband how long it took to potty train your son :)

I hope your yorkie does have Pet Steps that he is using for jumping off and on your bed.

You'd be surprised at how many fractured and seriously injured yorkies we saw, when I was volunteering at local shelters. The owners would usually say, " But he/she does that all the time". These guys are fearless and so playful, they don't think and anyways, its hard on their joints when they get older.

Petco, petsmart and www.dog.com all sell doggy steps and if you are an ebayer, you will find them there too.

Thank you Sundiva!! And yes, our son, Damian isn't FULLY potty trained yet, sooooo ha ha good point!!!! :D I WILL bring that up!!! And we don't have steps, our bed is low to the ground, but none the less I will look into that as well. Called vet today to try to get him in Monday they said min. $300 we're looking at to just have him seen, blood, and urine test I am BROKE so I am asking my mom to put it on a credit card and I can pay it off, let's see. If not I will see if I can quailify for care credit. I never even thought of him being sick, just through he was being defiant or something....but I am bring him in, I'll keep you guys posted.

Question though, if he is acting normal, no fevers, eating and playing like normal......could it still be a UTI? :confused:

Yup, Vet visits can get expensive! I had pet insurance on my first one and it helped some. Wasn't the best because too much paperwork was involved and I never got all the expenses back accurately. Care credit is great too, we used that on Bruiser's liver shunt surgery.
What I have finally gotten is Banfield hospital's Preventive care program for all five of my little ones. They are Pet hospitals inside Petsmart stores and have this great health program for pets. My greatest saving there is that they cover teeth cleanings which usually used to cost me $500 per doggy.Since the preventive program only costs about $30 per month, right there, I saved a whole bunch. All tests, office visits, spaying/neutering etc are free once you sign up. I am sure there should be one near you in San Diego.
Maxx may not be acting different because puppies are just focused so much on playing. It may be a low grade something. The Docs will be able to assess.
A friend of mine tried this with her little Maltese, she would lay her puppy's blankie on the foot of her bed and swears that the maltese stopped going potty on her bed. Something clicked with the pup that she was not to pee where she slept! Maybe that trick might help.

If it's not an illness, you might have to start back from square one. When you catch him going somewhere he isn't, say no firmly and take him to where he is supposed to potty. That worked for us with Chip. We also had him on a "potty schedule" and took "barricaded" him on his pee pad until he went potty then gave him a treat.

call another vet. That's very high - sounds like a vet that I took my girls to when I moved recently (just for shots and yearly checkup).....my jaw dropped when they handed me the bill

but I do think a checkup would help - dogs don't act defiant. He's telling you something.

So when is the best time for neutering .. 6 months ? I sure hope I do not have to deal with this problem with Wiz ...so far so good ..but I have heard so many stories of male yorkies doing this type of pee thing !
