For YT'rs with Excite Pee'rs! Please give me hope that this will eventually go away with age? Mia is going on 11 months. Tonight, she was so excited to see me, she peed right on my foot! I realized just recently that one of our couch pillows smells like pee because this is where she sits and waits for us to get home, and gets excited when she can see us pull in the driveway. |
I hope they grow out of it! My Daisy is going on 9 months and she does the same thing! She gets so excited, she can't control her bladder! Has anyone had their yorkies grow out of this or is it a lifelong thing? It is kinda embarrassing when she goes on someone other than me or my husband & I don't like her particularly going on us either!;) |
What about a diaper for her or putting pee pads on the places she sits. Try hard to keep everything low key and relaxed as you can. Do a google searh on excitement peeing for more good info how to help. JL |
Tucker is 3 and a half, and he still does this. Our vet said he just can't help it. We put a belly band on if company is coming over. The funny thing is, when we take it off, it is dry! It's like having the pressure of it on reminds him not to pee. (He is also not very "excited" to wear it lol). We insist that no one talk to him in that high, baby talk voice, that makes him go every time. When I get home I say Hello in a normal voice but that is all of the attention he gets until I've been home a few minutes and have put him outside. But, with Tucker, it'sn not just when we get home. Any time I talk to him in a high voice and rile him up he piddles. I can't get mad at him because I know it's not his fault. If anyone ever finds a magic cure, I'll pay BIG bucks for it! |
My sil has a dashuand who is 9 years old....she still does submissive peeing. The same rules at Teri88's house apply at theirs. Don't baby talk the dog...especially if she is in your lap. |
london used to piddle all the time when i would come home. shes almost 14 months and has stopped. of course there is still a little accident every now and again. it seemed to stop after i would put her in her crate when i left. then when i came home she would try to hold it in so she didnt pee on her stuff. now when i dont put her in she still runs up and gets excited, but no piddle!!! try the crate for a little bit, thats what i would recommend. |
Codie never did this but Tia use to but eventually stopped when she was about a year old. Cali is 2 years old and STILL does this. :rolleyes: |
Both of mine use to do it when I was coming home. Pheoebe still does it even now but Boo-Boo has stopped. They are almost 2 years old. |
Sophie used to do this really bad. She was around 2yrs old when she finally stopped with the exception of my Dad and my mother inlaw. She loves them both so much and when she would see them she would go every where. She is going to be 4 in November and has finally stopped altogether. YAY:D I guess 4yrs is a long way off. LOL Sorry I couldn't give you better news. Maybe someone else has had better luck.:) |
Well we are just excited to see her as well... so maybe the best idea is to not baby talk her and tone down our excitement. I hope this goes away eventually! |
