Wrigley won't let him blow dry him at all, he FREAKS even if I have it on the lowest setting, tried both warm and cool drying.

Sooo instead he runs around like a chicken with its head cut off rubbing himself on any blanket he can find. And if there isn't a blanket on the floor he just uses the carpet.

Im glad Gizzie isnt the only one:D I love her after bath smell too! I could just eat her with a spoon sometimes:p

Bobbie is so adoraqble. Thanks for sharing the video with us. I just got my Yukie the Yorkie a week ago. I phonede the breeder because when I sprayed conditining spray on Yukie and brushed him, he ran away and started scooting around the floor on the carpet for about 5 minutes. I hought he was having a seizure or something. It's a relief knowing he's normal. I had made a note to ask the vet about this behavior when he goes for his first visit this week. Thanks again to all.

I had a yorkie when I was a child and this is one of the things I remember clearly. He would rub his head all over the floor and basically act like a nut.

I was stoked when Cooper did the exact same thing! He truly acts like a crazy man after he is bathed.

ours do that as well its so funny to watch them our tucker likes to take the towel and play tug of war with the other dogs as they race around the room

I think it is a dog thing. I send my babies out to the groomer. When they come home, all nice and clean and sweet-smelling, with little bows in their hair, they rush en masse to the back lawn and start rubbing their faces in the grass and scooting their bodies along. They roll and wiggle and eventually come to the kitchen door, grass and bits of vegetation in their hair, bows bedraggled, and big doggie grins on their faces. They are just too funny for words!

Lucy also gets the post-bath zoomies. She cannot stand the hairdryer, so I towel-dry as far as possible, then she takes over. At the speed the races around the house, she's air-dried in no time (although her hair certainly has that 'free range' look about it aftrewards!)

Thor gets these too. He's very big on rubbing his head on the rug. I assumed it was because dogs don't like to get their faces wet (hence the doggie paddle).

He does enjoy the hair dryer, from a distance. He'll sit about ten feet away from me and I do my best to aim the hot air at him. He also likes to get brushed, so he looks magnificent for maybe twenty minutes.

Callie does the same thing and I let her do that until shes done and she will come to me and lay down ready to be blowed dry and after that she freaks out a little and then comes back when I say "you ready for mommy to comb you" and she lays back down lets me comb her and after I'm done she goes outside to potty then comes back in messes up her hair and goes to sleep lol. I remember when she was a really little puppy and after her baths I would wrap her in a blankie and she would sleep in my arms for at least an hour and I could even eat with her in my arms and she would sleep right through it.

Pita does that too! I thought she was nuts....LOL. I'm glad to hear its not just her!

Alright. I've now had Yukie for 4 weeks now, and I have finally realized he's not having a seizure..., not reacting to getting wet with the conditionaing spray..., or reacting to getting brushed. He reacts like Bobby (rapidly and continuously sliding his body across the floor, one side... then the other..., flipping on his face to rub his nose across the floor or with his paws) whenever he comes into contact with any type of fragrance. He reacts this way when I spray anything on him..., when me or my husband has used lotion or any type of frangrance anywhere on our bodies.

I had taken Yukie to the vet yesterday and was told he is very healthy at 5 months but, he will probably be one of the bigger Yorkies because he's 8lbs 1oz at 5 mths.

While there, (before realizing he was reacting to the scent of the frangrances) I informed the vet of his behavior when he's sprayed with the conditioner. He advised me to spray it into my hands and rub it on him. He proceeded to do this with some skin conditioner he sold there. And of course, he had no reaction while the vet was in the room for another minute. But as soon as he left and the nurse placed him back in his crate with his soft blanket, he went to work trying to rid his senses of the smell from the vet's spray.

I didn't realize his problem was with any type of frangrance until yesterday evening.

Has anyone else experienced this with their babies? If so, is this an allergy? Can anything be done about it? Please help!
