Guess what I found on my doorstep last night? It was about 8:00 or so last night, and I heard someone walking around the yard saying "Hello". So, I sent hubby out there to see what was going on, and it was one of our neighbors. He said "One of your dogs is loose", and hubby said "Can't be, we just put them all to bed" .. so he looks down, and there was a yorkie sitting there! We couldn't believe it! So, hubby tried to pick him up, and just then something scared him, and he started heading for the road -- so, of course, hubby caught him and we brought him in. It was cold last night. I just couldn't leave him out there alone. We kept checking the neighborhood, but no one was out looking for him. So, we had no choice but to let him spend the night. We've been calling him "Buddy". He did have a rabies vacc tag (no name or address) but we are waiting for the vet to open up this morning. Hopefully, they can look up his tag# and give us his address. He can't live too far away. Poor little guy -- actually big guy -- he weighed in at 12 pounds!! He was a little scared at first, but we did get him to eat and drink a bit. He had a ball playing with Gellica & Shadow. We didn't introduce him to everyone, because the younger ones are a bit overwhelming at first, and we didn't want to freak him out any more than he already was. I just hope we can find this little guy's home. I know I would be freaking out if it was one of mine. |
He knew you would be a safe home and found his way there! Maybe you can make new friends once you find the owner! I'm happy he found an honest and loving family to take him in for awhile |
awww thats so sad..i hate it when dogs get lost from their home. Very nice of you to bring him in last nite..cause it WAS cold up here!! I dont know..i just think winter is coming early this year. Try calling animal control too...thats the first person i use to call when my siberian husky use to jump the 8foot stockade fence...it was amazing..i sat there and watched him one day cause i couldnt figure out how he was getting out. Anyways..i hope you find his mommy and daddy. |
aww poor guy! At least he headed for the right house! |
Awww...poor little guy. He must be a smart dog though--he knew exactly which house to go to that would give hime a safe home until his owners can be found. |
Great News! "Buddy" is going home! We have great news! We were able to get his address from the vet, and it turns out, he lives only a couple of blocks away from us! His name is "Spunky" and he's 14 years old!! I thought he was up there in age, but he sure didin't look like 14! I am so happy we were able to find his home. Now, we have another yorkie in the neighborhood to play with! Don't you just love happy endings? I know I do!! |
Glad he found a safe place for the night with you and can be reunited soon. |
Unreal I would be sick if I was missing a pup,and at night...Yikes. Good thing he picked the right house. Keep us posted. I hope he gets back to his owners soon, they have to be going crazy. |
So glad you found his home. You can only imagine how upset the family was that their baby got away for the night. |
Yay-I bet his owners will be so glad to see him. Kudos to you for giving him a warm place to sleep last night ;)! |
I love happy endings! I think I count my dogs ten to twenty times a day. I really could not imaging one being out of my sight for long in the house let alone outside. Those neightbors were so lucky you took care of him for them. |
I love happy endings! And you made a new friend too!:) |
Spunky was so lucky to have a nice warm place to stay until he was reunited with his family. :) Cheryl & Mandy:aimeeyork |
