my puppy is here!! 2 Attachment(s) After what seemed like forever  my little yorkiepoo puppy is here. They were born Monday morning. Momma and babies are doing ok. She had 3 males, 2 have the coloring of the yorkie and the other has sable markings like a poodle. The first one born is exteremely tiny and they arent sure if he is going to make it.:( The momma is taking real good care of them and she very protective of them. The owner is also helping with feeding him to make sure he is getting enough to eat, he seems to be having trouble with staying latched on. I wasnt going to pick one out right away, but like I said in my other post yesterday that Im a sucker for puppies  and I choose the bigger black/tan male. I was hoping for one with yorkie markings. :D Ive tried to attach some pictures but Im not sure if they are going to turn out. lol. the first one is of the smallest pup. |

Awe...what a tiny lil angel. Congrats on the litter. I will be praying for your little one. |
Update the smallest male in the litter died yesterday morning. :( The other two are still doing ok, Im keeping my fingers crossed that they continue to thrive. I need to know a few things if you all dont mind me asking. I know I have several weeks yet before I can bring him home, but I want to be prepared for when he gets here. :) I have read several posts on here about "low blood" sugar. Is this more common in Yorkies? When I bought by tiny toy poodle (she is 4 pounds) 2 years ago, I was petrified that she would have a low blood sugar attack so she stayed by myside all the time and I fed her often and to this day I make sure she eats at least 3 times a day. She is free fed but I keep an eye on how often she eats. My new pup isnt going to be any bigger than my poodle, both parents are 4 pounds ish. I didnt know about nutrical untill this board, where do I find it? I want to have it on hand "just in case" and how often should I offer him food? Do I offer him several small meals a day, like I did with my poodle? Any other advice is greatly appreciated. :) Thanks in advance :D |
