Help! I have an escape artist! I need advice on how to stop my little escape artist. Maggie keeps jumping off the back of the sofa! It is about 40" high! I am afraid that she is going to break her leg one of these times. I have pillows behind the couch to catch her. The family room is gated off. Here is what I have done. Cans with coins - worked for awhile, Duct Tape - I pulled out a lot of my own hair! ouch! Pillows - hubby came home to Maggie sitting on top of one! Should I--put her in expen every time she gets out? When I just put her back into the family room she still escapes. I don't want to put both her and Hot Rod in expen, I don't think that that is far to him but it is far to put her in there and leave him out? The vet has suggested a type of invisible barrier. Any suggestions before going high tech? She has just gotten out 2x since I am typing this! |
I have the same problem too. Duke used to jump off the sofa in our last apt when it was sitting in the middle of the room. I put our sofa against the wall now so he can only jump up and down from the seats but it still scares me and nothing seems to help. He is also an expert at escaping from xpen or anytype of gates as well.... I feel your pain, let's hope they'll be very very careful so they won't hurt themselves since we're trying our best. |
Have you tried this First...kiss that cute little man for me!!! Luv that face..O.K. I used to house clean part time, to help pay for our wedding..Tin foil . I cleaned for alot of welthy people who covered the cushions with it. It worked for them, but I myself have not tried it. Good Luck!!! Hi Hot Rod!!!! |
It's funny to find out that trixie is not the only one doing this. I wish you good luck. I know nothing I have done had help trixie with this problem. I rub her pows, all the time, thinking she is hurt, but she acts as if it is nothing. I will keep reading these posts to see what people comes out with, in refference to this problem. I found out that they do it, to atract your attention. They just sit there expecting you to go and get them. I came home a couple of times to find trixie doing this. Who knows for how long she just sits there waiting for me to put her down. |

Yes, I gave Hot Rod a big hug and kiss for you. He's getting even cuter, if that is possible. His hair is growing in so well and he's so yorkiesh now. I just gush when I look at him. Thank you so much for the suggestion. Keeping fingers, toes and paws crossed for this resolution. |
