We just bought a new house! We just bought a brand new house. The only problem is my little dog. She can't handle being locked up all day. I don't expect her to hold it all day while I'm at home but she can't take over our bath anymore. Does anyone have any suggestions? My parents suggested crating her. I'm not sure how she do. She's 13 years old and I have never put her in anything like that. Any help who be great! Thanks in advance. |

open sided kennel We have a kennel that folds up like a suit case That is a bigger than Mia needs but she is able to see what is going on Good luck |
Grayson and Abby have free roam of the kitchen, they are pinned in from 10 until I come at 1 then back in the kitchen at 2 then at 3:30 are out again from when my teen comes home. I have a baby gate and it's great! |
Here's a suggestion: Based on the advice of others here I went online at walmart.com and purchased this "baby octagon" for toddlers. Here's a link to look at it: Walmart.com: Baby: Health & Safety: Gates It gives them more space to be in but confines them to one area. I can put it on the floor wherever I am with a puppy pad, blanket and food and water and go knowing they have access to releiving themselves and food and water. There are times when I will put them in there when they need to relax a bit too! I have one that loves to be a little stinker to the others when they want to nap. I chose this instead of living in a "gated" community! It unfolds like an accordian and stores in my closet. I take it to the lake too and put it outside so they are safe from getting too close to the water's edge. I hope this helps!!! Congrats on the new homestead!!!! That is always exciting! |
[QUOTE=Ready4Anything;2246896]We just bought a brand new house. The only problem is my little dog. She can't handle being locked up all day. I don't expect her to hold it all day while I'm at home but she can't take over our bath anymore. Can't you just put an exercise pen in a room where there is no carpeting...like a tile floor with some wee wee pads down. My 2 are in the kitchen all day till I get home from work....any accidents can be easily cleaned up if they miss the weewee pad. I would not crate her at this age. Tina |
Well, we decided that leaving her locked up while I'm in school all isn't fair. But my parents will be living right around the corner. My mom will come over and play with her. They also have a very large kennel that we can use. I am mainly worried about her poor eye sight and new surrounding. Her bladder control isn't what is use to be either. So I think this is a good solution. Besides it may be the perfect place for her to hide from our kids! Thanks for the advice! |
