Clothes I put a dress on Caylee for the first time yesterday and you would have thought I was torturing her. She rolled around on the floor and bite at it. Hubby told me to take it off of her bc she hated it. Do they get use to wearing clothes? I think they are adorable dressed up, but I'm wondering if she's going to be against the idea. |
I dressed Rory from a very young age - practicially the instant I brought her home, but I'm imagining that they adjust fairly well. I did the same thing with a carrier, and she loves both her carriers and dressing up most of the time (the times she doesn't "enjoy" it she at least tolerates it!) Maybe start out with a little t-shirt that doesn't have any ruffles or anything. She is more likely to forget it is on and plaaaaaaaaaay!:aimeeyork |
Thanks! |
Some of them dont like it and never get used to it and some learn to tolerate it in time. |
I wanted to add if you try to play with her - toss her favorite toy or play tug, whatever you two usually do to play, she is also likely to forget it is on and adjust more quickly. I just think for the little puppies distraction is the key if they don't immediately take to it. Oddly enough, my 135 bullmastiff never minded being dressed up. :animal-pa |
It took Maggie about a week to get used to wearing stuff. If it is a little big on her, she will bite at it for a short while. Hot Rod has just given up on and doesn't mind now but he was too keen at first. |
Some don't mind clothes and some do. Since yesterday was the first...I'd keep dressing her and hopefully she gets used to it. Reggie falls over when I dress him. It is hysterical....my legs don't work. I got him in the spring and it's too hot for clothes here...so only recently have I tried clothes on him. He may be naked this winter. |

Now this has been one of the great surprises of my parenthood, that Maya acts like the dresses aren't even on her. I expected the fight of the century, but I was pleasantly surprised, she has a prissy side. |
Thanks for the respones. How funny about the dog falling over when clothes are put on, to cute! I'll keep trying with her, yesterday was the first time I'd tried any on her. It's actually the only thing that I've bought that fits, lol... I'm really hoping she adjusts to them, bc they are so cute dressed up!:aimeeyork |
Cash likes his jerseys now coz it is cold, but everytime i put them on, he goes crazy. He rolls around and acts like there is something crushing him, but after a little while he gets used to them and likes them. He used to be much worse! At first he used to sulk for hours. He didn't want to play, didn't want to eat and he would completely ignore me. They get used to it with time:) Just don't reward their sulky behaviour with taking it off! |
