crate or play pen ? goodmorning everyone ! i need to housebreak my puppy but im not sure how to do it. i dont know wether to use a crate of a pet gear that is like a play pen. what do you guys suggest ? |
hi I personally recommend a crate!!It worked great for me and I have 5 babies 4 yorkies and a rottie:) Goood Luck:) |
I had great luck with a crate. Its a small space so they dont have a place to go potty while in there. (Some will, but most wont potty in the crate.) As far as a play pen, just remember, at some point (if not covered) your baby will learn to jump out. And, boy, yorkies can jump! My baby was jumping on and off our bed and couch by 16 weeks! |
I tried a playpen with Sam and I couldnt do it bc I was so afraid he would fall out on his head sooooooooooo the crate it is! I prefer it:thumbup: |
We had good luck with a crate.:) |
the crate it is ! thank you soo much ! |
I have used both! When Wrigley was a puppy we used a regular baby playpen and it contained her just fine! We had a mesh netting on the top that went down over and secured under the legs. Well when we rescued Camden a few months ago, she's 2 1/2. She was able to either climb or jump onto the railing and scaled down between the playpen and mesh netting and chewed a hole in the netting to get out! We now use a crate for her and it works great! |
I bought a crate and a playpen/fence. My baby has to sleep inside the crate because she was able to get over the fence . I didn't even see that happen. Just found her out of the playpen. What if she injures herself :( Now I just use the fence to block areas in the room i don't want her to touch ;) |
You can really never leave them unsupervised with a playpen because like someone said at one point they are going to be able to jump out of it. I personally use both. I leave my playpen up all the time and even my schnauzers like to take naps in it. It comes in handy but the crate is the safest. |
I've always used a crate/kennel. |
