What do you do? What do you do when your puppy wakes up at 4:30 and wants play instead of sleep?:) |
Wake up my BF! :) Hehe… |
I usually just move her crate onto the bed and go back to sleep. I think she sees me sleeping and gets the hint. |
Zoe hasn't exactly done that, but she's definitely woken up and needs to go out and once she comes back inside she thinks its play time. Whenever she'd do that I'd sit her down on my lap (restrain her a bit to stay there, if necessary) until she'd calm down a bit. She might have tried to wiggle out but in no time she'd be asleep or close to it and I'd put her back in her crate. As much as it'd kill me, I was exhausted and figured she had to be too! |
I usually would give them a chew toy & put them in the bed with me. They they fall asleep soon after. |
I have tried putting the crate on the bed and she would cry but I'll try that again. When I did that before, it was when we first got her. She is much more adjusted now so it might work. She sleeps in a kennel in her bed and you'll never guess what kind of bed we got for her. It is a cat condo...we noticed that she loves to crawl into and lie down in small places so when we went shopping for a bed to put in the kennel, we thought she'd love crawling into that space. We were right, she loves it! We keep the door open to the kennel and she goes into the condo when she wants to nap. Unless she wants to sit in my lap to sleep when I'm on the computer. (The condo is round and covered inside and out with carpet. She even climbs up on the top and lies there...I'm not sure if she can manage to get down. That is where she is in the morning when I get up.) I wonder if anyone else has used a cat condo for a puppy? |
That sounds like worth a try, thanks! |

Wow! I must be extremely lucky. I and my Yorkies, 16 month old Katie and 5 month old Suzi, go to bed at 8pm. At 7 -7.30am I've a job to get them up. They sleep like logs. Does your wee one play a lot during the day, mine do, maybe he/she needs tiring out more. Hugs Shirl x x |
We had that problem too with our pack of Yorkies. It seems one would wake the other, etc. It took a week or so and they learned what the words "Night-night" meant. When we say it they know it's time to go to sleep. Mine still get up at 4:30 but that's when I get up as I am at work by 6:00 am so it's not a big deal but...if they wake at 2:00 am - it's still NIGHT-NIGHT TIME!!! :) |

Early Wake-up Call? One of my 3 Yorkie's eventually wakes me up @ 5:30-6:00 am. every morning since my BF gets up to go to work @ that time but they don't know the difference between a work day and a weekend. On occasion they will wake up @ 4:00 am. to go Pee, but when they are done I put them back into Bed, so it's obvious to them that we are NOT getting up to play or do anything else and if they do I tell them "Get back in Bed" that's the official command? But they pretty much do what ever I'm doing anyway. |

Gypsy and Puff sleep in bed with us and when they decide to play, it is usually rough housing and chasing each other. I have to tell them to calm down and they usu will. Gypsy reminds us it is bedtime at 10 pm. They usu are pretty good about sleeping through the night though. |
