I don' think I have ever told this horor story about the Petsmart in Hobart, IN....My friend took her little sh*tzu in for grooming, a few hours later she received a call that she needed to come back to the store so they could "talk to her" she asked what was wrong and they insisted that she come into the store so they could speak to her personally. She felt sick that something bad had happened to her baby. When she got there, everyone had a grim look on their faces they took her into the office where they told her that her dog DIED while in their care being groomed! :eek:She thinks she might have had a heart attack but never found out what happened. Petsmart=BAD NEWS!!!

OMG THAT IS SO TERRIBLE!
I would have went postal I think.... What happened after that? Did she sue them?

They offered her a new replacement dog but she was so heartbroken that she declined. When it happened, I guess the girl that was grooming her ran across the street to a vet to try to same her but it was already too late. :(There was no point in suing since they offered to replace. It's been a few years since this happened and I told her she should go back NOW and tell them she would like to take up that offer now that she has recovered emotionally. ;)

hahaha right now when i look at canella sometimes i think she looks like one of those hairless dogs hahaha chinese crested whatever

aw man, petsmart annoys me too! i've only taken Kash there a few times, but everytime i've set up an appointment with them, i come in, and they don't have me in the books!!! it never fails. they just SAY they've scheduled me when i'm speaking to them on the phone, but when i get there (my pup in hand), they're like, "we don't have you scheduled." then they say they can still get Kash groomed, but usually he has to wait in the back for HOURS before they get to him because there are other dogs waiting in line, and i just won't let him wait back there all scared.

anyway, i think i've learned my lesson and i'm not going to call petsmart anymore.

yea thats exactly how they were with me all lookin in the computer for me and im like yea i think you guys spelt her name wrong last time how do you get NALA from CANELLA? HELLO!!!

I always thought that people said Petco was worse than Petsmart? I have to go tonight to get an xpen...I hope they have them?

i wouldnt go back and pay if you were unhappy with your service then why should you have to pay?

I know exactly what you mean! They did the same thing to one of my babies. They are the absolute worst. Luckily, I found an excellent groomer near my house that does EXACTLY what I ask of her. I will NEVER take any of my girls there again.

OMG! That is absolutely horrible!! I think I would have lost it!!:eek:

oh my gosh i can't believe that!! :eek: it's a good thing Phoebe is such a doll.. you wouldn't notice her bad cut-cuz you'll be lookin at her cute lil face! :p
That was when she was a puppy her very first grooming experience for her:( but since then I do it my self he,he;)
I'm sure that there is good petsmart groomers out there; that was just my experience, don't want our yt members that work in Petsmart or Petco feel bad for other people mistakes not all are the same;)

Aww girl let me tell you when that lady hand me over Phoebe over the counter I was NO that is not my puppy,she was yes she is, I was like no she is not, and hubby said that is Phoebe hon :eek: but ones I held her and my hubby said you have blood in your chest I was freaking out:eek:because I din't know (back then) that nails could bleed and that lady grab her put some powder and she stop bleeding she said that is common for them to bleed when you cut their nails:eek:, let me tell you I have cut my girls nails since, and they have never bleed with me not even ones :mad: and when I don't do it, I take them to the vet and they do it:aimeeyork

:mad: Gosh, these are Horror stories. :thumbdown It makes me so angry and sad that anything like this would happen at the groomers. People intrust their beloved pets to the groomers, and they screw up badly. That is not right at all IMO.
This is the very reason that I have chosen to learn how to groom myself on my Suzi. If I mess up, which I more then likely will while learning, at least I know that Suzi is not being hurt or traumatised by anybody. Poor dogs can't tell us about their experiences with other people.
It is heartbreaking. Petsmart and Petco groomers suck. :thumbdown

I am sorry you got such bad service. I would def talk to the manager. The Petsmart that I take Gypsy to is actually pretty good. Gypsy has never had a bad grooming session there. I think each Petsmart is different. Whether it is Banfield, the groomers or just people in the store part, we have always encountered helpful, friendly people who seem to know their jobs.
