OMG!! Look what animal control brought to me!!!!
 

OK....most of you know that I own a grooming shop and that I do small dog rescue with our local animal control.... Well I am currently in the process of relocating my business, so I haven't had much contact with them for about 2 weeks now. The shelter manager called me this morning and said"Jess I know that you are moving, but I have 2 purebreeds here thatjust came in yesterday, and I don't want to keep them here. Is there any way you can take them??? One is a shih tzu and the other is some kind of terrier. The guy said it is pure bred but I don't know what kind it is" So I tell him to bring them too me, and am expecting like a jack russell or rat terrier. This is what they give me!!! I don't know if he is a silky or a yorkie, but he is supposed to be 6 yrs old and has a 2007 rabies tag on. I am going to call the vet on the tag to see if I can get more info. These are before pics of him and the shih tzu. I haven't even checked to see if the shihtzu is a male or female yet!! I will groom them when I have time today and post new pics later!! I probably need to put them in the rescue section too...our shelters adoption fee is only $45 and that covers all shots and spay/neuter!!!

Well with an 07 rabies tag...I'm thinking someone might be missing the yorkie. The vet will have the owner's info.

The shih tzu is cute...well they're both cute.

The yorkie(doesn't look pure) look like a lot of work!! I guess you have to trim most of his hair off...

they both are very cute! i hope they found a good home for these babies

They are both owner surrenders (not from the same person though)
but I am going to call the vet and get more info.....

I haven't really "got in there" and checked how matted he is yet, but it will probably have to be a short puppy cut at least!

Well I am off to get some stuff done, so I can get their grooming underway!

I groom some yorkie mixes that look like him, one is a yorkie schnauzer mix and the other is a yorkie poodle mix.

Shih tzu looks like they'll be cute when you are done.

I have groomed for the SPCA in the past, unreal some of the breeds you find under the mess!!

Ohhhh...I hope you find them wonderful new homes. Post pictures after their new "do's"

I just ran in to grab some lunch real quick and thought I would update you guys! I called the vet. They couldn't give me the owners name,but could give me the dogs info and name. The dog's last name matches the owner name on the surrender form at the shelter. But the last name sounded really familiar to me. Then I remembered a phone call that I got monday from a lady who has lung cancer. She wanted me to help her rehome her "poodle mix". I took down her info and have made a few calls about it but had no luck so far. As it turns out this is the same dog. He is a 6 yr old Yorki-Poo. He is very sweet. I am almost finished grooming him. He LOVED being groomed! His hair wasn't that bad, so I bathed and dryed him first.....he is VERY curly so when I finished he had a major Fro!!!! I have taken him short (about 1 inch long all over) and am trying to straighten up his face from where it looks like he had an "at home hair cut". He needs a good home if anyone is interested, please let me know! I haven't started on the shihtzu yet, but it is extremely matted and will probably have to be shaved down :( . I think it is a boy, but can't tell because it is matted so bad! I will post pics of their new do's later....stay tuned for more updates!!:D

Thanks for the update! Please do a good background/reference/home inspection check on people that are interested, those poor guys deserve the BEST forever home possible ~ I would hate to see them not cared for properly and wind up in the shelter again :( Poor fella probably misses his Momma, after 6 years (so sad)

God stuff like this just breaks my heart. To think that after 6 years that baby had to leave it's home. I feel for the owner too :( They are both as cute as can be! I can\'t wait to see pictures!
If I didn\'t live so far, I\'d nab one of them up !
