How do I keep my yorkie puppy from picking on my Golden retriever? My dogs get along rather well and they play very nicely. My retriever is 2 and has less puppy energy and when she is trying to nap my little yorkie is jumping on her and nipping at her. I tell him no and try to occupy him myself with the kids or his toys. Well this evening he ran from me straight to my retriever and he bit her eyelid and she was sleeping and moved her arm out out of shock and my little boy yelped and barked. It was an awful sound and I nearly fainted. I checked him out and he's been playing fine running eating acting normal. I'm worried about him but he's acting like his usual rambunctious self. How do I really teach him manners so he stops harassing my bigger dog. He'll even go into her food and get her to leave her bowl. If she has a toy she'll give it to him if he wants it. i just can't can't belive this little guy is being the bossy one. Any advice? |

Aw, I've always wanted a Golden they have such great temperaments. Your little one sounds like a brat. lol I can't really give any advice between small dogs and big dogs because I don't have any big dogs. But Naboo (Squeekie's mom) is bigger than Squeekie and Squeekie is a little monster but Naboo is the one that is usually disciplining Squeekie. Naboo puts her entire head above Squeekie to calm her down and this really works so perhaps when your little one is being aggressive or disobedient perhaps you can gently but firmly put their head down with your palm or your own head to show that you are the boss and you won't tolerate that kind of behaviour? |

Distracting puppy is my only suggestion. That being said...Ramsey isn't always interested in Reggie's puppiness and she lets him know. |
