Tangled Mess I was wondering if you all could give me suggestions as to which type or brand of brush works best on Yorkies. Scout loves to be outside and we are getting ready to get him shaved as he is constantly rolling on the grass and climbing under the porch. We can never get him out and his fur is becoming matted in places.:( We cut the matted places off, but he is just so outdoorsy that we can't keep up with him and his fur is becoming uneven in length. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!!!:thankyou2 :yorkietal |
I have found the key to no mats is a gret conditioner! I bathe my two boys once a week in long hair shampoo and then follow with conditioner. It has made both mat free! I buy the gold shampoo at Pets Mart the oatmeal long hair "beige" color and the pink conditioner with the yorkie on the bottle. Sorry the bottles are in the bathroom and I have a broken foot or I would give you the name. I have tried tons and tons of different types and these are the key to success! I also use the a great brush and blowdry them. When I first got Cosmo he would be matted all the time and it was awful and my Jaxon has a full coat and he was even worse. Now they it is rare for them to have a mat. Find a good conditioner and it should help, good luck! |
I so know what your talking about ... mine used to do this too ... it took me hr. to get her hair cleaned up .... she had long silky hair. We shaved her ... there was no way out ... but it has been growing back .... I can't give advice on a good brush ..... a few weeks ago somebody posted about a good brush ... maybe you can search for the Brush .... I think it is the shampoo that makes a difference too ... I switched mine and her hair is less tangled and easier to brush ..... I hope someone can be more of a help then me .... |
